A buddy of mine and I are planning on taking his boat to Lake Katchewanooka later this week. Last night I heard that the algae blooms are currently quite bad and that most weed growth is coated in it. Can anyone confirm this and if so, is it so bad as to be virtually unfishable? Is this permeating the entire Trent system?

The lower end of Pigeon has quite the bloom of algae going on. It's the kind that grows in huge balls and sticks to the weeds. It was actually floating over a portion of the lake, which made it unfishable in that spot.
