Marten River in the fall - best time?

Since I am not able to do a Martin River trip like last June, I want to book a 4 day weekend in the fall. What is a good time for this area? I am thinking October, either the weekend before or after Thanksgiving.... Is this a good time for pickerel and smallmouth in that area?

I've never done great in the surrounding lakes in the fall. Found it really tough when the walleye are in transition...bass should be ok. Thats just me though

Wicksteed , Marian , Olive , Red Cedar all all good bets in the fall , they were all hot last season .. Turcotte is too , but tougher .

Will probably book with Beaverland and will rent their boats so stuck with Martin Lake, Bruce, and McPhee. We'll give it a go and see what happens....
