how do i remove the top eye/guide on a rod?

Hi all,

 

just wondering how to remove a top guide on a rod….the ceramic has popped out on both my uglysticks and i wanna replace with new ones.

heat it up (with a lighter) grab it with vice grips and work it off

This.. just be careful not to overheat. Doesn't take a lot of heat to loosen the epoxy enough.
