Rich Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Three of us got out a couple weeks ago for some first ice crappies. We rarely keep any during a season, but when we got into consistent eaters we decided it was time for our annual fish fry. We caught close to 50 eating size crappies and brought home 9. Salted minnows on micro heads were the ticket for me and Eric, Rob was nailing just as many on a Whatsit jig. Great times, and a great meal. These were chipotle/mango/garlic breaded.. amazing. What's your favourite breading or batter? (Yes that is a gluten free beer lol) Edited January 30, 2013 by Rich
Acountdeleted Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Wow. Great catch. For me I take Doritos sweet chilli heat and crush it into a powder, then batter the fish with that. For my money, can't be beat.
asdve23rveavwa Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 MMMMMMMMMMM!! Good stuff, Rich!! That batter sounds great. At our house the garlic butter Fish Crisp goes over really well. It actually gets two of the three boys eating fish, still working on the third.
moxie Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Love the paper mouthed leopards!!! Just dipped in a little flour and fried in butter. Thanks for sharing.
