bigcreekdad Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Has anyone fished this area at that time? I was there a few years ago in early October and had pretty mediocre fishing (for muskie and pike). I'm thinking of a later trip, but am hoping for some thoughts from the forum.
John Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Gonna be there Oct 12, 13, 14, so I hope the big girls are hungry.
cisco Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 The river is too warm so drive to the mouth and fish around Blueberry Island for walleye and pike. Been there done that years ago. Stealth mode. Drag/drift minnow/worm rigs off bottom and troll spinners/body baits.
F_ast Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Most of the lodges close their doors after the second week in october. I fish the first week of Oct almost every year and it is not uncommon to see -5 over night temps. Fishing can be good. But can be terible too.
