soobnoob
Anyone ever use a Heavy Duty truck battery instead of a DC battery for their trolling motor? I had bought a used trolling motor and he threw in a refurbed Heavy Duty, Group 31D, 12 volt (925 CCA, 160 minutes reserve capacity) battery made by Exide. He told me he's been using it all along and works just like a DC battery. Any thoughts?
Sinker
It will work for sure, but it won't endure as many charging cycles as a proper deep cycle. I would use it until its toast, then get a true deep cycle. Make sure you have a good charger. S.
Muskieman
I've used them before .... Mine lasted 2 seasons .... Very easy to charge .... Turn your tow vehicle around , pop the hood , run boosters from battery to battery and let your vehicle idle.... Works like a charm. Randy
