reel servicing

hey guys, i have a shimano calcutta 400 TE and i used it for this past season. these reels are quite pricey so i want to take care of it because of all the strain on it for the musky lures. i was wondering if anyone knew a good place where i can get my reel serviced? (fixed up, cleaned, etc? )

that all depends on where you are located.

Walk it right into the shop in Peterborough... that said, I haven't seen a need for that yet after numerous years on my two. Maybe I should actually oil them this year though....

I've mailed my reels to Shimano in the past & they mail it back, just add the insurance in case something happens, a lot farther for me to drive though

I would suggest you to DIY, it't not that hard, you're just doing a clean and lube, no point of spending $50 on gas and fees just to do that...

 

I'm sure some OFNer would do it for a 6 pack
