BillM Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Absolutely love steelheading, my latest addiction is capturing them so I can look back and relive those special moments over and over. I think I'll be making a new lens purchase in the near future (24-70) which should be lots of fun! All these were taken with a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.. Easily one of my favourite lenses!!! GBay Steel. Some Frogwater porn. Another Gbay beauty. Some Huron action. ..and finally I step out from behind the camera and into the limelight, lol. This thing was a cow!!!! frozen-fire Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 When did you get a black froggie?!?! Love the shots. I'm considering a wide angle lens myself. Was thinking of the 10-22 but now considering a 12-24.
danc Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 A breath of fresh air Bill. Both yourself and frozen fire have posted some wonderful, and most importantly, unique shots of a beautiful game fish. Shots like these are so much better than the 10 picture posts of a fish with a reel under water beside it. I'm looking forward to seeing shots with the new lens.
solopaddler Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Beautiful shots my friend. Regarding the shots lying on the ground comment, I'm guilty of it. Hard to get artistic when there's nobody around to help though.

Hard to get artistic when there's nobody around to help though. I pretty much always fish with a good buddy of mine Mike. But after years of trying, I just can't get it into his head of how to use a camera on auto focus mode. Aim, half press to focus, shoot. How hard can that be? I go through the drill with him almost every time before we head out. "I know, I know" he always says. He always does the full shutter press on every shot, which results in out of focus shots of my fish every time. I'd probably do better shooting my own fish by myself Mike. I know where you're coming from. Not always that easy.
