I have a 14 year old Honda 25 that has not required any repairs. I don't try and grind any underwater granite to sharpen the prop or reconfigure the skeg. The motor gets a few minute warm up before applying power. I believe I should get at least a thousand hours or more before anything needs replacing. Pigeontroller Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 I'm pretty sure that Outboards, even 2 strokes have a much longer lifespan than motorcross/enduro engines...A 4 stroke Outboard that you take care of will last as long as you...need it too.
