Ice fishing Simcoe tomorrow

I am dropping the wife off at around 9 am in Newmarket and I am thinking about heading out on Simcoe for the day.

 

I was wondering if anyone has been out there recently, and how bad the slush is, because I will be walking out.

 

I was thinking either IBP or BBP, I have fished Roaches a couple times this year with some success for perch, but wanted to try for some Whitefish or maybe even Lakers.

 

If anyone wants to join me, they are more than welcome, I dont really know Simcoe that well, but I like to get out and try!

stay on a packed path from a sled or truck

ibp head straight out towards the huts

last i heard they were onto the williams lures

thanks man, yeah, I will wear my rubbers, definitely dont want to get a soaker, especially on the way out!

how did you do ? and how was the slush?

Im heading out tomorrow from the east side in serch of some jumbos.

there wasnt any slush thurs and fri, how did you guys do?

i was out on the 5th from the east side and I did great me and my buddy caught more then our limit of big perch 2 at 14 inches.. most of the went back tho.. couple in my freezer

That would give us an upgrade on our panfish!

sorry it took me so long to respond there meister, I didnt realize you had replied

 

I did ok out there on the 4th, thats when I got that whitefish that is on our tourny board, and the 10" perch, but nothing up near 14" I hope that you got some pics!

 

The slush was nowhere to be seen, I prepared for it but it wasnt there, gorgeous day though, I got quite the suntan!
