smitter Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Those are amazing! I know just where to use them. Late April to early May in the St. Mary's rapids, drifted along bottom and BOOM!
packrat Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Those are simply fantastic Never seen artificials tied that look so real----you have a real talent for the smallest detail in your work/craft
Roy Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 You know of course that the more you guys compliment him the more I'll be paying for my dahlbergs. Have a heart will ya?
Spiel Posted January 29, 2010 Author Report Posted January 29, 2010 Thanks guys and Joey. I'd like to tell you it's a labour of love but I'd be lying, it's just labour. I'll respond to a few of the comments in order to keep it somewhat brief.... For those that I didn't quote your comments are truly appreciated, thanks again. DANG... Leah just smacked my screen with the fly swatter !! Good job your head wasn't in the way. Sweet. No idea how you make them so lifelike.. Patience and boredom which is compounded by spending the time tying them. what could i barter for a few spiel tied flies? Got a spare bedroom? Amazing as usual. Rick mentioned the other day that they were for him (lucky sod ). When I'm done with him I hope to do a few for myself. Mint! (don't you.....forget about me) Simple Minds. All that work and I can just imagine the first rainbow or brookie on it...under a nice log jamb and then all of the sudden.... ping! oh crap just broke off in the tangled brush pile! PS: I think you out did yourself on those 2 Chris.... now back to those 3 inchers I was talking about.... SHUTUP! Bigger ones coming. Awesome stones Spiel! Reminds me of my earlier stones I tied.. it took me an hour to tie each one as I copied the real nymph.. don't have that kind of time anymore! Aaron Yep, bout an hour each Aaron. Wow comes to mind! Those are beauties...I'd love to see what the specs on my opener lake would do to those! Cheers, What lake is that? soooo can you tie me a mosquito? I need it to lure the real ones away from my ass while I am up North this summer. art I can do that! You know of course that the more you guys compliment him the more I'll be paying for my dahlbergs. Have a heart will ya? I told you Roy, to late!!!!!!!!!!!
