Thinking of heading Muskoka icefishing

Hey,

 

I've been thinking about heading up to bracebridge, anybody been there lately..? I was thinking of fishing some smaller lakes, wanted to know if there was 10inch plus ice in any lakes around

I was on 3 Mile Lake near Utterson and it had about 6 inches of ice...not the clearest stuff, but sleds and atv's were crossing the lake. With this cold weather, I'd bet your typical "small lake" has between 6 and 10 by the end of this week...hard to say though with all the snow cover.

it would be hard to say for sure...

It is really variable right now. In haliburton forest, any lake that froze after the big snowstorm has plenty of ice (they staked them with 8" about a week ago). Smaller lakes that had frozen before the storm and got snow on top of the ice only had about 1" on them.
