So I am gonna try ice fishing since I keep seeing all the posts on here and can sense the pent up anticipation for it

Ive seen this video before, but something is kind of werd with this video, how did the get to the top of the auger to start the hole?

You add extentions as you go down. You disconnect the motor unit, add a 2 foot extention, hook the motor unit back on and drill the next 2 feet. Do this 5 times and you reach bottom. They could have done the reverse when taking it out but they wanted to show you how deep the ice actually was.
