I have been skunked so for for trout and it's one helluva long time till bass season opens So I am gonna try ice fishing since I keep seeing all the posts on here and can sense the pent up anticipation for it

You disconnect the motor unit, add a 2 foot extention, hook the motor unit back on and drill the next 2 feet. Do this 5 times and you reach bottom. They could have done the reverse when taking it out but they wanted to show you how deep the ice actually was.
