Jonny
Nipissing was frozen solid as far as the eye can see yesterday (Friday). Up until Thursday there was still some open water visible. Freeze up for the last two years came about 2 weeks earlier. In 2006, the lake was still not frozen on Christmas Day. johnnyb
This whole year seems to be 2 years behind last...I'm heading up north on the 20th lookin' for ice! Stop first in Muskoka, then keep going until I find somethin' solid
Jonny
Check the shallower lakes at this time of year - the ice will be thicker. But you probably already know that.

Jonny
I know of people who went out boating at the Nipissing South Shore on Christmas Day 2006, just to say they'd done it. Too bad all winters don't start that way!
