Canuck Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I notice that many of the Lake O salmon in pics people are posting this year are looking a bit skinny. In past years the Lake O salmon looked nice and fat. A lot of them this year look thin to me. That was how Georgian Bay started about 3 years ago when the few salmon caught were really skinny. Then the population crashed. From those that fish Lake O, are they thinner this year?
John Bacon Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 A cold summer may have contributed to this.
CLofchik Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 The fish out east have always been skinnier than west end Kings, with the bad August/September in the West there's more eastern fish getting posted up. All the Kings I've seen caught from Credit/Bronte/Niagara have been thick, but lampreys are definitely on the rise in the last few seasons.
River Rat Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 if they look skinny, take a closer look....you will find they have slit bellies out east RR
