Salmon/Steelhead run @ G-bay?

Hey guys,

 

Just wonder if it is still too early for salmon/steelhead run around G-bay area.

Going to have a get-together with friends on Labour Day and am wondering if I should bring my gears as well

Its not to early for salmon but it is early for steelhead. Go get them.

Salmon are running right now. As for rainbows I just got in with a friend from wasaga and we got 3 bows 80 feet down over 100. They'll be a while away from heading upstream.

We always seem to get a few shaker bows labour day weekend in the lower end of the Not

fishing the mouth of most of the major rivers w/ spoons or mepps or corn (not my favourite!) will probably produce salmon. but i think this might be a bit of a late year for the run...
