ehg Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Going to Lake Muskoka this weekend with non fishing folks, will talk them into taking me out fishing but i am on my own figuring out where the fish are. They have an island northwest of Beaumaris. Thinking that some smallmouth will hit topwaters in the evening or morning is there anything else? Wont try for lakers but any suggestion on pike or walleye or bass will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Harrison Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Ehg, topwaters will get fish all day. Try a variety of baits off the breaks in 6 - 10ft. Inline spinners, senkos, jerkbaits, tubes etc... for SMB. Pike, find weed, throw jerkbait / spinnerbait.

Was thinking of jerkbaits and spinnerbaits maybe will throw inline spinners as well. The topwaters all day at this time of year is a given. Thanks!
johnnyb Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 We should still have most of this full moon around, no? Super deadly Muskoka smallie tactic is a very very slowly retrieved jitterbug under the moon. Juuuust enough to hear the plip-plop-plip-plop. If you've got a jitterbug...definitely give it a try
