Guest steel'n'esox Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Earliest Ive heard is a friend caught one off a breakwall Aug 4 some years back again when shore temps were right, that said at the time we would take water temps off the pier and if it was not below 58 degrees would go again till temps were better, thats when the average size was greater with more abundant alewives to help gain the extra weight, things have changes somewhat in both fish size and baitfish populations and was suprised two years ago to find 3 fish on the pier already and surface temps were 65 degrees, and no previous rain to bring them close to shore with those surface temps, that was Aug 18 07
