silvio Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Hey guys been awhile since I've posted. tomorrow is my last exam and I know there are going to be days were I am bored and can get out a fish. just wondering if the river or canal (I know one is the Holland river and the other is a canal along canal rd in Bradford) has any decent fishing and what species exist in it. I know its pretty polluted so this is just to pass some time. Not looking for spots mostly looking for species that are present and weather the canal or the Holland river will be a better bet. thanks Edited June 21, 2009 by silvio
steverowbotham Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 i dont know what spices are present, maybe find some leeks ? I know in the spring it gets loaded with crappie and carp, but i dont know about the summer time.

Victor Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 How's the gf silvio? You seemed to have disappeared!!! LOL. Talk to mike and get him to take you out for some carp.
motv8tr Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 I seem to recall someone saying that Bass is in one of them, maybe both? which one goes into Simcoe, that would think that one would be good for a few ... Maureen
yo_guy Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I've caught bass, pike and crappies in that stretch on the canal... lots of places to fish... this time of year you can forget about the crappies.
StoneFly Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Bass, Pike, Carp, Catfish, Crappies and Bluegills.
silvio Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 how’s the pike fishing in the canal? what baits should I pay special attention to? Victor the girlfriends always good its the guy who never is lol. Thanks everyone
StoneFly Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Most peeps use big minnows for pike,..but those are also the same peeps that keep em to eat...EWWWWWWWWWWWW...lol... be creative,...holland marsh/river is productive,..just for garbage fish is ALL..if your not planning on chowing it,...stay away from the green MATS,...lol. you can have a 50 fish day no probs on artifilicials...just make sure the the BASS are in season,...or you might get pounced on for decimating the natural pops...
