Court R
Hey guys, I just bought a hummingbird 565 portable and was wondering what was the best way to have my settings for ice fishing? ____________________ Thanks Court Edited January 8, 2009 by Court R
wallacio
1) Turn the chart speed to max ("Ultra") - this will ensure that data is virtually instantaneous ie no lag. 2) Adjust sensitivity up so that you are able to mark fish and your lure(s) but not so high that you are getting too much "noise" etc. 3) I like the split view screen where the main screen is the bottom zoom and the side screen is the whole water column as most ice fishing hits are close to bottom. Hope that helps - good luck! Edited January 5, 2009 by wallacio

Sinker
I turn up the ping speed on mine too. I also use split screen, the bottom 10 ft, and the whole water column. Just be careful how close you get to guys with other units. A flasher will mess you up fer sure!! Sinker
