pike slayer Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 hey guys, i'd like to get a decent pair of snowshoes for this winter but i have no idea what kind or size or anything to get. i want a pair for hiking through the deep snow to remote lakes. i dont know what size range i should be looking for but i weigh 160lb and have a size 9 shoe size. what do you guys recommend? i dont want to spend anymore then $150, the cheaper the better but the quality has to be there. thanks!
Uncle Buck Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Check with TJ, he sells snow shoes

Roy Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Yup, that's your man for snowshoes. You can visit the site HERE! He ain't a bad dude to deal with either.
Sinker Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I've tried just about every different style of shoes.......but I always go back to my original set of traditionals. I find the new aluminum ones aren't big enough for deep snow, and I've broken 2 sets in the process. I've had my traditional ones for at least 20 years....no probs yet. I would however like to get a set of the Ojibway style shoes......they're nice and long. Real nice for walking long distances on lakes or open country with deep snow. Sinker
