Guest Fishing For Life Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Hi guys again, just wonder how you guys cope with those crazy-blood-sucking mosquitoes when fishing in creeks ... I noticed that unless the weather is either really really hot, cold down-pouring rain or windy ... they are everywhere and they hit me regardless of what repellent(s) I use, sun-protecton glove I wear The worst part ... they know my face is where with the least repellent ... Any advices? ... here is one more reason to go WINTER steelheading ...
ccmtcanada Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 You kinda look strange, but I cant stand putting repellent on my face, so I use this..... Just wear a baseball cap and the mesh stays away from your face....there are two elastic straps that go under your arms to keep it down.

Guest Fishing For Life Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 damn, I was hoping there is some kinda repellent that really works .. or some kinda attractant which attracts them away from me .. any other advices?
Wild Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I know this works since I run an organic lawn & garden company, two plants that can be used are lemon balm and catnip which is more effective than deet. Well unless you have lions, tigers or bares running around the stream
