ehg Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 About 3 yrs. ago i tried painting with my childrens acrylic paint set and this popped up. Some underwater Pacific salmon. Posted this on older version of OFC at the time. Tried a few more paintings after that with oil but they aren't fishing related. Unfortunately, i had multiple sclerosis reduce my vision in one eye since then which halted my painting. Anyways, noticed others paintings here so thought i'd share one of mine. cheers, ehg
bushart Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Very good--looks like a lot of natural ability there---I would'nt hesitate posting non fishing paintings--it's all good Bushart
ehg Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 I would'nt hesitate posting non fishing paintings--it's all good Bushart Thanks for positive feedback. Here is a couple of non fish oil paintings done shortly after the fish painting. Copied the Van Gogh irises and added 10 %(on left side) because some others didn't think i could do it. Took a stab at still life not best picture.
bushart Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 This is great stuff--it would be great if you can continue with your art. Tip**--Never let anyone tell you that you cannot do it----Years ago I stopped looking for approval from others--as long as you are satisfied, that's what matters. Remember at times where your criticism is coming from. All the best and please post more as they come. Bushart
pameladallaire Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 I've always loved your paintings. I wasn't well over the winter and couldn't paint for 6 months. As soon as I felt a little better I started up again. Some old masters said their paintings improved with an increase in vision problems. You get to the heart of the subject and leave all the details out. Also, we have a painter in our club that can only paint for 10 minutes a day and he finishes two paintings a month. You have a great talent, don't let it go to waste. Pam
ehg Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 You have a great talent, don't let it go to waste. Pam Thanks Pam! I plan on painting again soon, still a neophyte at this but am finding inspiration from photos and paintings found in this section. Thanks again and wish you good health, ehg
