Chris Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 The first fish I remember catching was a perch from the St. Lawrence River when I was 8 yrs. old (approx. 42 yrs. ago). However, the first years of my life were spent living on the shores of Lake Nipissing and I've been told we went fishing with my Dad several times back then. First fish I can remember seeing caught was a small tiger muskie caught by my Uncle thru the ice on the St. Lawrence River near Lancaster when I was about 6yrs. old.
Roy Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Camill, you should have blanked out the background. Great pic.
Guest mistyriver1 Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I was 5 or 6 years old and like ChrisS, I got my first fish (a perch) on the St. Lawrence River (Lake St. Francis) in St. Anicet QC. My father and I did our annual trip there and to Ste. Barbe (my uncle had a cottage) until I was 18 years old.
urbanangler1990 Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 camillj, good stuff, fishing with ur dad is a beautiful thing. Very cool guys!
jediangler Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I was 4 and I caught a sunfish with my Dad at Alder lake in New Dundee. I remember he found a garter snake in the rocks, he grabbed it and brought it over to show me. I was terrified it was going to kill him. In 5 minutes I was holding it myself. I have loved fishing and snakes ever since. Caught a nice 5lb walleye with my Grandpa when I was 8. That was my first game fish of any size.
Clampet Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Rock Bass when I was 5 yrs old (circa 1960) with my mom in an old wooden rowboat, on Clear Lake (Bain Lake) near Field, Ontario.
