First Soft Water of the Year

Just wondering where everyone is planning on spending their first soft water fish day of the year? Whenever it gets here.

 

We usually waarm up on some Crappies in the advance of the Last Saturday in April. This year I will be staying as far away from Algonquin Park as possible. You can read a previous post and it will explain why.

Long Point for Pike

I got out in the boat in January with no luck. Hopefully the ice will go away here before the end of March so I can get some pike fishing in.

I've already had my first softwater day of the year.. it was uneventful, and short-lived due to the cold weather.. Gotta get back out there in the next week or so, the temperature just doesn't want to rise..

After ice out/ spring the big carp come out of hibernation to prepare to spawn in the shallower reaches of bays and inlets. This allows fish up t0 30 lb plus to be caught. So, that's where I'll be.
