kickingfrog Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 What do I need to do to post a photo that is a reasonable size? It seams that I have to do a lot of manual resizing just to post a small, low quality photo. Most of the other post have nice sized photos that can then be "clicked" on to enlarge to a proper size. It can't be as hard as I'm making it, can it?
brandon Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I resize all mine in photoshop then upload to photobucket and then post.
kickingfrog Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 Could I do the same with Google's Picasa?
brandon Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I myself am not familiar with the Picasa program but I know even the photo editor that comes installed with windows operating systems has a photo resize option
kickingfrog Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 I've done that with these poor results...
tbayboy Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Picasa is usable but a bit of a pain in that it doesn't let embed the photo URL directly like flickr or photobucket does. That said, its not too hard to get the result you want: Step 1: Navigate to your picture on Picasa's web album (this one for example). Step 2: If your using firefox right click on the picture and select 'copy image location'. If your using internet explorer right click on the picture, select properties then copy the 'address' value. Step 3: click the image button in your post and paste in the URL you just copied, for example: [img=http://lh5.google.com/smaurik/Rkx6Azdlv8I/AAAAAAAAAAw/mFJAJ6B1i1Y/s400/bigfish.jpg] And then you'll get: Bit of a pain but it works though I'd recommend Flickr or photobucket if you have a choice. hope that helps Sean Edited October 15, 2007 by TbayBoy
