The real problem comes when you try to claim a world record. This year we had a world record flounder caught and when the women tried to claim the record all hell broke lose i.e death threats and all matter of character bashing.
Al McReynolds ( world record Striped Bass) said that the fish was a curse. He said that he had a gun pulled on him over the record.
You can read his story here or just skip to the section named BAd

depends on what weight you will be casting . For the frist time set the brake so that the wieght just drops when you release the spool . you can then lighten it up as you get better not brids nesting.
I use a doppler loop . A ot of my rigs have two speratehooks called a top and bottom rig you can google either doppler or top and bottom rig for more info. The trick is your hook line must be short enough so as not to reach the weight but if you need a long hook line try the Helicopter rig that MUl suggested it works really well also
With fall bass fishing coming to a close I'm strating to think about turning my own wooden plugs for next spring. There are 15$ to 30$ each and I need something to do fishing related. I need to find a good sealer to soak my truned plugs in before I paint them any suggestions?
I had a pretty great year. I didn't catch many or any presonal best but I did start out the year fishing with my sister and brother in law . It was the frist time I had fished with her in 21 years. It was all so great to see her and her husband become a pretty good anglers.
The funniest thing is that Philly gave up Peter Forsberg in the trade and had Lindros played for the Nordiques he would have been on a much better team in the end . LOL
I hated him since day one , and if he makes it in I lose all respect of the HHoF. I lived in Philly when he came there so I got to see and hear the drama on a daily base .
Favorite Lindros moment was the the Scott Stevens hit during the playofffs.
