  1. some rough shoot out attempts, but we ruled on the 3 on 3.
  2. Agreed on the value of hemp. However, I'm not truly sure we will see an increase in use based on the legalization of marijuana. (hope I'm wrong)
  3. Oh, of course you can't do it before or during work.
  4. So, what will your company do once it is legalized?
  5. of course it will be a financial one. i'm not sure your correlation between the legalization of pot and the potential increase in hemp production however.
  6. I still stand by what I said. We have some great talent in our minors. Best in 20 years. Add a couple more high draft picks and we'll be a top team....Marner, Nylander, Kapanen, Bracco, and Brown.... Well done Leafs.
  7. you guys are awesome!!! (seriously). I wish I could pull up my post on here, from circa 2003, when I made a comment about enjoying a puff while fishing. the VAST MAJORITY of this board ripped me a new arse for saying it. Many members, and no I'm not naming names, were 100% against it...while now those same people are singing a different tune.... AND THAT IS FANTASTIC! folks are opening their eyes and minds to the truths....it is great to see a society start to become more tolerant. Its no longer considered (by most) to be the evil devil it was once looked at as. Still a few folks refuse to accept....we'll see how the coppers handle it when they lose their revenue stream for seizing goods relating to the criminal sales. Colorado, the first to legalize, had a number of cops interviewed...and the cops said they truly didn't care that it was legal, but they missed the seizures they had relating to the criminal aspects of it....but the state collected so much taxes that the state funneled some extra coin to the coppers, and they quickly shut up about it.... all about getting their dollars. Even Bill Blair has done a total 180, now that he's not a cop. When he was a cop, he advised that pot should be kept illegal (gee, what a surprise). Now that he isn't part of the blue brotherhood, he's all for the legalization of it. Anyway, glad to see the tune has changed by the majority of our population...and for those who refuse to change...well.....so be it...they are now the minority, not the majority.
  8. Exact same deal here. I too benefit from income splitting, but my personal needs did not cloud my judgement for whom I felt was best for our country.
  9. Awesome! Better than being equated to Bushie Jr, like Harper.
  10. Day 1. Justin tells Obama we are pulling our jets from the "fight" against ISIS. Nice to have someone leading the country who doesn't have his nose stuck up the yankee presidents arse.
  11. The fear of change. Many fear change. It is human nature.
  12. LoL Dave.
  13. I know it is a long ways away yet, but if we get a high draft pick, and select Jesse Puljujarvi, we could have an exciting team!!! Kasperi Kapanen, Jesse Puljujarvi, and Leo Komarov from the Finns and of course William Nylander, a Canadian / Swede. Jesse is a huge young man, who loves to throw his weight around, while still scoring....similar to Leo, but likely better. Kasperi has high hopes, but my fingers are crossed for him....better than Philly K though.
  14. quote your whole post? I didn't quote your post at all? by "poster" I referred to the poster in print (wind: idiot power), not your "post" - I could see how that was confused. For that I apologize.
  15. well, we lost by a goal, but another great game....pvr'd and watched when I got home last night.... Leo continues to shine :) 7 hits and a goal.
  16. the "poster" certainly reeks of propaganda. I already pointed that out on this thread. The poster creator conveniently removed the part where the author of the quote stated that a wind turbine in in a good area reaches net benefit in year 3 (or less) on a 20 year plan. You just have to do some reading on your own, and not accept the fear mongering propaganda that is being shown. Good on you to sniff that out Sterling.
  17. no, calling a 43 year old a kid, because of who is father is, shows a serious lack of knowledge. I know many professionals who had rich upbringings that are fantastic business folk who are highly valued by their respective companies.
  18. See my post #106 above regarding your question on costs. It isn't as black and white as it appears when talking nuclear costs. Btw, I still heavily support the need for nuclear power. also, you need to include hydro in your green power numbers, as hydro certainly is a form of green energy. i'm going to continue this discussion later, but my wife and I are leaving soon to see Paul McCartney in Toronto. I love these types of posts....and don't think I don't see the problems/challenges of green energy...it certainly has its flaws as well. I just try and help diffuse some of the incorrect rumors that float around...
  19. you know, Justin Trudeau is 43 years old..... not sure why anyone calls him a kid....unless they are brainwashed by media and don't possess an ounce of their own forethought.
  20. no. we purchase solar power without guaranteed purchase contracts. we guarantee a price per kw purchased from green energy sources, but not a minimum purchase amount with any developer. i understand we will be non renewing our guaranteed purchase contracts with nuclear power. when that happens, we will stop selling power to the US, because we will not be forced to purchase unneeded power from nuclear sources.
  21. John, in order to property determine what we pay for nuclear power, you have to look over a period of time (typically one year). You take the amount we pay, and divide by what we actually receive. Saying $0.045 is not necessarily correct, as we are paying for power we don't receive (which then inflates the actual cost per kw of nuclear power). Some years work out better than others. Years that we don't consume as much, the nuclear cost goes up substantially, as again, we are forced via contract to purchase a certain amount of kw's per year, even if we don't actually take it. Bruce power has a very lucrative deal with Ontario. They get paid for power that we don't even consume.
  22. Raf and Mister G, what wind farm(s) do you leave near that don't allow you to open your windows due to noise?
  23. again, gas fired turbines, while better than coal, are not a clean source of energy..... this is, I thought, common knowledge. steam turbines still need a heat source to heat the water to turn to steam. Only option that doesn't produce carbon dioxide is nuclear. Or of course, water turbines using moving water to turn - that is clean and green.
  24. trying to find a date on that article...appears to be from 2013. as of 2014 and 2015, there is a moratorium on offshore development of wind turbines (and rightly so).
  25. cheapest lures I run are challenger lures. They are knock offs of north american lures...but work VERY WELL! Change up the hooks and split rings if your going to target silver species of fish, but man do they work. Riplin Redfins are also quite cheap, and they work better than 90% of lures out there.....
