  1. OFAH has there traveling tackle van & some area libraries have a tackle loaning set up, I have a 4-H Fishing club with members that would use it if you don't find any where else Richard
  2. I had a buddy that couldn't catch much & I always teased him that he stunk, after bugging him enough about using sent he finally started to use mine and ended up catching alot more fish, some people do have an oil that could turn fish off, worth a try, Mega Strike Richard
  3. Went out to the Dam in Wingham with 12 members from 6pm til 8pm, I said I was heading down below the dam & would be driving around to the other side, by the time I got there the members pretty much had the bank covered, so I just moved around til I had my own little area, after catching about 12 rockbass my area got smaller & smaller, so I moved around a bit, there were 3 girls all fishing together in one area, by the time I made it down towards them I had 51 fish, 1 girl had 0 fish, 1 had 1 fish & the other had 5 fish, I asked if they would like 1 of my baits but they were OK, after me counting out load to fish # 70 they had enough & took 1 of my gulp grubs, every kid that was there caught rock bass or smallies, I ended up with 72 rock bass & 12 smbass, I believe our club will be bigger again next year when the word gets out, our press report will be putting it in the local papers Richard
  4. I'm fishing tomorrow I hope & working Fri Sat Sun Days, then floating the river Monday with 4 canoes & 1 other boat, there will be a couple of young ladies fishing with us again hopefully they get fish, a buddies girlfriend will be with me, I donated a day on the water for a prize at the Gay Lea Foods Golf Tourney again that he grabbed up quick, Weather is looking great Richard PS: We'll catch up to each other some time
  5. That's a good night, there are supposed to be more big fish caught around the full & new moon, but I just go when I can & don't think alot about it, but when canoeing at night it's nicer on a full moon Richard
  6. Some nice fishies there
  7. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did when she caught it, we spent 30 minutes reviving it & it swam away very strong Richard http://south-bruce-guide-service.blogspot.com/
  8. Sweet looking bass Richard
  9. Does any one know were you can buy a strap for one of these, my daughter lives near BPS & they don't seem to want to order it & haven't been any were else yet, has any one seen them in a store in London, Toronto Area Thanx Richard
  10. Some small lakes in the area, but I'd stick with the Saugeen if you can set up a drop off & pick up time or leave a vehicle were you want to get out & get some one to drop you off up stream, good fishing if you can figure them out, all you need is spinnerbaits & crankbaits Richard
  11. Are you shore bound or do you have a boat or canoe & what species are you after Richard
  12. 12 of us were heading canoeing today but 6 backed out because of the weather, I took my nephew, a buddy & his wife went & a 23 year old buddies son & his girlfriend, I had a smallie follow but turn away in the 1st 20 minutes, thought that was a good sign but, about an hour later the row boat & 2 canoes were a cast away from each other & Jenna said I have one it feels like a small bass, a musky had picked up her spinnerbait and swam towards her, Darcy holler it's huge & jumps in the water saying I need help, I throw him my net & paddle closer & jump in the water too by now he has the Musky in the net & is saying I want help, we get some pictures & video & I make Jenna get in the water to help revive the fish it measures out at 44" & 22.5 lbs, 1/2 an hour later it swims away very well revived, Dave caught a 33" Musky, Darcy a 24" Pike, I catch 3 smallies & the others caught a few more smallies, no lightning & not that much rain, a day none of us will forget for a long time & I told Jenna we likely won't let females go on any more trips, but she already knows were going on the holiday Monday. It wouldn't have been any better even if I would nave caught it. pictures to follow, early in the week Richard :worthy:
  13. It SUCKS never made it threw the day & it was in the garbage Richard
  14. Maybe you should use heavier line then, hate to see some thing or some one get away Richard
  15. Go to a park tie your line to a tree & go for a walk put a piece of tape on over your line & reel it back in, no more problem, go catch fish Richard
  16. Lots of water, great ramps with a few docks, stay away from the shore til you figure it out but the damn area is like 60' deep, there are areas with willows away from the shore & the water level drops as it gets later in the year, don't use town of Belwood ramp pay at the Conservation area, have fun Richard
  17. Congrats Steve & Kelly & whats this about stress your too young to have stress Richard
  18. No one in the boats there really cared about him or one if them would have put their boat in between him & his boat to stop him from getting run over Richard
  19. I have been to Ashbridges Bay, lots of fishing areas, try the lake side shore or around the boat ramp area, should be some Pike, Bass or even Salmon in the area Richard
  20. I have a C3 Ultra Cast 6500 old one, C4 5600, C5 5600, & 2 other more expensive ones & a spinning reel, I will not be buying another, seem like 2 of them are always needing fixed, the line guide is the big one it will go to the right & fill the spool til it stops, they tell me you need to clean the worm gear every time you use it, I have mostly Shimano's, a couple Quantum PT's, a couple Extreme's & just bought 2 Diawa Pro 100 HL's, non of them have this problem & they all get cleaned once or twice a year if they need them or not & they always need it Richard PS: If they fix this problem the reels are great, if not they suck :blahblah1:
  21. Here's a good option too http://cbaf.ca/ find a club close to you & get started, there is a tourney almost every weekend & affordable, guest speakers at meetings & then try the BM100's next year Thanx Richard
  22. Nice looking Nickel & a great report Richard
  23. I love spinnerbaits on Eugenia 1/2 or 3/4 oz pick a colour, don't forget the docks skip Tubes weedless on braid & I wouldn't go on the lake with out heading to the east of the big Island, weeds & wood every where 6' to 10 ' deep, south end by cause way weeds out front Richard
  24. I just returned 2 extreme reels last weekend, they were bought at the fathers day sales, both made a noise like gears slipping when you started reeling in, repush the button & reel in again & it would be OK maybe, I took them back had 3 people look at them & they said they'd replace them but had no more, so they gave me a store credit & I picked out 2 Team Diawa 100HL, I've been out twice this week & so far I really like the reels, I put 17 lb Flouro on 1 & 15 lb Flouro-clear on 1 used them for crank baits Richard Shimano Citica was my next choice
