The top one looks like a Condex from Britian..I had one years ago. Pflueger Medalists are the best low cost reels today.

Who needs a motor? These kayaks can go through 8"s of water to those back bays full o' bass!! You need a good paddle too..I like the MantaRay with aluminum shaft. 2 piece. http://www.aquabound.com/

For solo, I remove the front seat & just slide the rear seat forward. I don't claim to know everything..but I know what works for me. Spend the $$$ right the first-time & enjoy the best paddlesport.
