  1. Going to cast those off the mouth of the Mimico?
  2. Headed up to Gull Lake this past Sunday for the Chris Brock Show (haha sorry Chris I couldn't help myslef). After a short sled ride from Deep Bay my buddy and I were fishing by 8:00. It started off super slow and any marked fish did not seem interested in anything we were throwing at it. Tubes, spoons and single hook minnows were not doing the trick. Every fish I tried to bring up quickly lost interest. After a couple hours Chris came back to check up on us. This is when the action started picking up. My buddy landed his first Laker and after a few miss strikes I was finally on the board. Chris ended up pulling a walleye out of the hole he was fishing near by. A couple more fish came out the hole and a couple beers went down. Just when we were wrapping everything up for the day my buddy hooked into a Ling that he was praying for all day. When he was pulling it out of the hole it spit the hook and slowly sank back to the depths below. All in all we had a great time and I will be going back for sure. Chris was great fun and super helpful. He picked us up, brought us to the hut, got us some minnows and even let us use his fish finder. Awesome dude and a steal of a deal. We got our limit of fish, good times and home brews. Looking forward to the next adventure! Thanks Chris. Pictures to come.
  3. I agree with you all however this thread went on a tangent. I just wanted to point out this website to anyone looking to get into the environmental field. It really help me out when I was job searching. There is an employment opportunities link on the side bar. http://www.afs-oc.org/home.htm
  4. Good job Canada! Now I wonder how many jobs and how much tax money other substances would bring to Canada if they legal...
  5. Give the guy some credit, he more than likely followed the DFO Operational Statement for Dock and Boathouse Construction and clearly followed the The Dock Primer A Cottager’s Guide to Waterfront-Friendly Docks to protect fish and fish habitat during and post construction. What else can you ask for?
  6. Wow looks like Luca Brasi got to that one.
  7. Nice fish. Im glad that guy is pointing to it or I may have missed it
  8. Thanks everyone. Hopefully I can add to the board with some Niagara bass, gta fly fishing and northern Ontario trip reports soon. I also would like to start a thread on updating my tin boat when I get a chance.
  9. Thanks Man, Lets just not post anything about the bass opener 2011 lol.
  10. Dont forget cigarettes, those things are deadly!
  11. Do you know if I can bring the boat into the harbour or not? Also my navionics say its over 20 ft deep in most of the harbour. Can anyonre confirm?
  12. Hey Guys, Looking to get out for some coastal chinnys in the can this weekend an am wondering if vertical jigging spoons can be effective? I know they are typically caught on horizontal casting/trolling presentations with steady retrieve however, the bass fisherman in me is wondering if I can slay some kings like this? Also, anyone have success by swimming tube jigs? I know browns will take em...
  13. I have purchased minnows from several bait shops in southern Ontario and nearly ever place has had non native species is the bag. I am with cram and Sinker, regardless of any legal right you may have to transport the minnows for personal use I would strongly recommend catching them yourself from the waterbody you are going to use them in or get them from the closest bait shop to the waterbody. I also strongly recommend that anglers take personal responsibility to educate themselves and others on the identification of legal vs illegal baitfish species. Here is the link to the baitfish primer produced by the DFO, OMNR, OFAH and BAO. http://publications.gc.ca/collections/collection_2011/mpo-dfo/Fs134-7-2010-eng.pdf
  14. I went to rib fest and checked out that grassy area on the north side of the bridge. That even looks possible to get it in there. I'll have to check out that other spot you mentioned. When you say that it was tried to get a launch at the empty lot what happened and how can I help?
  15. I could do that too but it better be dead calm. My ass has eaten the seat before on a couple trips in bad weather lol.
  16. I figured that was going to be the only option. Was hoping for a local known "unofficial" launch. If anyone wants to help carry my boat 50m across the beach in exchange for a seat pm me.
  17. Hey Guys I recently moved to Oshawa and have a 14' can with a 20hp 4 stroke on the back, Was hoping to get into the Oshawa harbour to chuck some spoons away from the crowds on the boat and am wondering if there is a place to launch that's close? Not even going to think about travelling from whitby or bowmanville launches. Think I could drag it over the beach at Lakeview?
