  1. I have a Fishmaster, which is essentially a Superfisherman with vinyl floors and with the stern done differently (full splash well instead of the converting bench). I love it. As Craig said, which engine you get depends where you get the boat. I got mine with a Suzuki but the dealer was also willing to put a Merc on it.
  2. I think if you mixed some snow/slush over it and packed it it would be okay.
  3. Wow. He went right across oncoming traffic, hopefully everyone was okay...
  4. Thanks Billy Bob and crappieperchhunter, that makes more sense now.
  5. That doesn't make sense to me. Bringing in non-residents into the area would have so many benefits. Non-residents that come in stop for gas, get minnows from the local bait shop, rent huts from local operators and stop by the local coffee place to grab a bite. There is no way small businesses in the area shouldn't be pushing for more "outsiders" to come to the area. Unless I'm missing something?
  6. Of course if it's two gas stations that are across the street or even two gas stations which are down the same road I'm going and I know one habitually has lower prices I will skip a gas station to fill up at that one. I just know some people who drive around looking for the cheapest place and they probably end up wasting as much gas as they would have gotten with the price difference.
  7. Glad somebody's getting out, I'm still waiting to. What general area where you in?
  8. I never understood the insanity when it comes to gas price shopping. Is 1$ per fill-up really going to matter especially when it's countered by you having to go out of your way to get to the cheaper gas station?
  9. Also I just remembered from when I was boat shopping in the spring -- Crestliner had some excellent boats that would be in the range you are looking for, I think the Hawk models would be suitable for you. But generally speaking you are going to have many many options to choose from and spring is going to be a great time to look. Don't miss the boat show!
  10. It's unlikely you'll get much support for tracker boats from the folks on this forum... If you want a family boat, I would check out some of the fish/ski boats, like a SmokerCraft 176 Ultima.
  11. Is this the place that is about 1km south of Epps?
  12. Is the 25$ non-resident a new thing or is that just for the summer boat launch? If I recall correctly, it used to be 15$ to park in the winter before. They should really make it less (5-10$ or a 60$ 3 month winter pass). They would actually get more business like this, as a lot of people (myself included) go elsewhere. 15$ isn't much when you factor in gas and equipment to get out ice fishing, but it's the principle of it.
  13. This for sure. Your video had so much useful tips and information. The stuff on TV is just blatant product placement and advertising. This is on top of the fact that you were nailing fish on a lake that is accessible to everyone whereas many fishing shows are done in remote locations where anyone can catch fish.
  14. By the looks of it he blew a long while after the incident, and he still blew over. Impressive.
  15. From my experience COs don't really start coming out too much until February. Also you should be in their computer system if you bought a license but haven't received it yet, so even if a CO does catch you, you should be okay. FWIW I think what is going on with the licensing is a joke and I am not defending it, I'm just saying that I doubt they are out to get the people that renewed their license and don't have it yet. They are also likely aware of the issues/shortages so again I doubt we are going to see a lot of COs until February.
  16. PMed Nick hopefully I will get a place . If not, tent time!
  17. This is such a great video, Aaron. Very professionally done and extremely informative! Thank you for posting this.
  18. Great pics - you are nailing them year round! I think I recognise the pool in the May picture - is that the one just below that big one at the bend which the tree recently fell across?
  19. My dad renewed his Outdoors Card online in November and still hasn't received anything. He didn't bother printing off the temporary copy because he was sure he would get it on time... I haven't gotten mine either, but renewed mid-December, at least I printed the temp one off though...
  20. Those are exactly the kind I wear on fishing/camping trips...
  21. Satellite image form the 28th. Lots of cloud cover but you can see it's pretty much mostly all open. How do you think of... I don't even... Sigh.
  22. 90-100? Seriously? Even at an average of 30$/shirt that is 3k you would be spending on just the shirt part of your wardrobe. I have maybe 5 shirts I wear regularly and then a few other odd ones for around the house/outdoor trips.
  23. I have the Galaxy S2, and it's great. Very thin, huge screen, and it is extremely light. Also the exterior of it seems very durable. The Iphone can't do anything that the GS2 can't do, and I think physically the Galaxy is a better phone, and depending on how savvy you are, you will have more options with an Android OS. It also tethers great if you ever need a computer with an internet connection in a remote place. The only negative I can think of is actually that it's so light for its size sometimes I feel like I might drop it.
  24. Are you looking for the scent or just something as a rust/corrosion deterrent? I've heard that WD-40 has some fish oil extracts that apparently some spray-on scents also use. Not sure you would want to put much into the water though... I've wiped down jigging spoons with WD-40 before because otherwise they rust and corrode very quickly, but I'm pretty much a non-believer when it comes to all the scent stuff...
  25. Not mine. I wonder how long in took for it to become eaten thereafter... looks extremely exhausted and like it wouldn't be able to make it. Judging by some related videos this actually happens a decent amount.
