Lew, last week I was in Minnesota and Wisconsin on business. I did the 4hr + drive from Minneapolis to Green Bay and saw 6 glass deep V being trailered...4 of them were Skeeters, the other two were Rangers. No doubt that Skeeter makes a good big water boat or those boys wouldn't run it. My other option is to buy a 17-18 foot aluminum and keep my Ranger. That way I'd have a great winter boat when ice is an issue. Glass boats don't like ice.
-
That's exactly what I've noticed and yes, the large glass multi-species boats are fantastic. I'm actually considering going from a bassboat to one. The Ranger 620 or 621 would suit me well and that's why I'm asking about the other brands.
-
There are a bunch a very popular multi-species boats used primarily in the midwest that I rarely see in Southern Ontario. I'm wondering if anyone on here has any direct experience with any of these. Boat brands such as Yar Craft, Tuffy, Warrior, Recon or War Eagle. Ranger and Lund still seem to be the most popular but these other boats get a lot of buyers. Any input? I wonder why they don't filter into Ontario with any consistency...we have very similar lake types.

Can you contact the trailer manufacturer to check? Unless you bought it new, if you take the numbers off the existing bearings you're relying on the last owner getting it right. Just read your last post....if you contact the manufacturer you can call around now and get a set before you even touch the trailer Friday.

Last night was the exact reason the Leafs picked up a 33 year old netminder. He has the experience to step up and pull off the big win when required. IMO last nights game would have really gelled the team further with Mac getting involved, Kapenen getting his first and Matthews scoring his 40th. Not to mention that fact they put away the reigning Stanley Cup champs and booked a spot in the playoffs. Huge game! -

Speedo. Doesn't matter if it gets wet and nobody ever comes close to where I'm fishing.

This season could end today and the Leafs could call it a success. Incredible scoring and points records by the rookies and big improvements by some of the existing players like Kadri and Bozak. I'm happy...everything else is gravy and there is lots to build on. With their position now, I hope they make the playoffs because it'll have little effect of draft picks but the experience of being in the playoffs and probably getting their butts kicked will be valuable. I don't want their first playoff run to be the first year they're actually ready. This year has been awesome watching these guys enter the league and perform the way they has. I'm so glad I got to see it. Depending what happens in the next 5 years, this will go down as a big year in Maple Leafs history. Go Leafs Go! -
A part of this is simply we believe what we were told to believe. I always thought it was strange when my father would say you should never EVER catch a bass during the spawning season because it will cause serious issues to the population. And then head to the river to pound rainbows and watch the eggs spew out on the bank as you try to release them. Whatever. There cannot be one set of rules for all fish but I'll be fishing smallies as soon as the weather cooperates on Erie. The US has an open season which allows artificial baits and catch and release. As far as this armchair biologist can determine, it's had no ill effect on the fishery. The fish are plentiful and getting bigger. The US side is still the hot spot for many Canadian run bass tournaments as well. This means we have a lake with a fishing/no fishing line down the middle. Now, how dumb is that?? Either the Canadian regs are prohibiting fishing for no good reason or the American regs are allowing damage to the population...it has to be one or the other.

LOL Another cry baby that wants the rules changed because it suits them. That big bad meany Sid picking on little Methot!!! Jeesh, you guys cries more that Methot did and it was HIS finger!!! -
Motor size should be properly paired to the size/rating of the boat. That will give you good performance at all speeds including hole shot when loaded, cruising speed on plane and yes top speed. Comments like above can be misleading for inexperienced boat buyers.

I also think it's an honest question...it's the answer that's probably not.

Well I'm jealous! Good on you and thanks for the pics. Very impressive!

^^^ Easy, sticks get snapped in two all the time with well over enough force to break a finger. So is it intent to injury when the stick gets sheared off but there's no injury? Nope, its a two min minor. Now, if the guy two hands him with a baseball swing, and it's been done, that gets called and you'll probably get either a phone interview or an in-person hearing. That is exactly what you're describing. Honestly, I've seen that slash on Methot half a dozen times and I'm still shocked it caused that much damage. It was hardly an vicious attack. Crosby should have got 2...that's it. I still say you can't cheat on equipment and blame someone else for an injury. -
Remember too that animals get pushed out of their habitat naturally, not just by humans. I just read that in 2015 the cougar population in Alberta has tripled since 2005. From 680 animals to 2000+. Through natural expansion, their territory will gradually increase and with very few here, this is a perfect habitat free of competition. I'm no biologist but look what happened to the population of Barrie when housing prices rose in Toronto For the record, I only heard about the cougars in Barrie. lol

Yeah but I think I could drive out west, poach a cougar and drive back 5 different times quicker than you'd find one in Ontario.
