The first event we had lures etc donated and I made tackle boxes for the kids(basically all the basics you need) Now these kids are full fledged anglers. Mission accomplished?

Ok. A little backstory here to start. My good friend and local drug and alcohol counsellor past away 3 years ago. Amazing man! He helped soooo many people! It was one of his passions! He had other passions too! An angler, teaching kids mainly, to fish. Unfortunately he died of a heart attack. And in tribute to him, with his brother and mom and dads permission, I started the "elvis debungee memorial family day fishing derby" The first year was amazing!!! All the friends, family and locals helped out so much!!! The past 2 years were a dissapointment. No safe ice, so it was cancelled. Huge dissapointment. Anyhow, this years ago. We are moving the event to LOTWs as elvis wanted it. If ANYONE has any donations or conections to possible sponsors, please IM me. All your help is appreciated! This is a youth angler event! All prizes go to the kids. How can you not support that? Help me out OFC friends in anyway possible. Its a great cause and even a jig, line, anything helps!!! Miigwitch

Agreed, great point! I built a shack so I use that on the river. When im on the lakes I prefer no shelter so my opinion in hindsight is useless.

Im not as tech savy as i thought??? I went through the process then stopped short of officially launching the gofundme page. Or so I thought. I checked my email and the page is already a go??? Hahahahaha Thats reminds me about 6 years back, I took a buddy ice fishing for his first time. He likes to fish but I wouldnt call him experienced. His first fish that night was about a 3lb ling and ive never seen someone so scared of a fish. Im telling him as I laugh, just unhook the thing and throw it on the ice. To which he squirms and tries to reply as its wrapping around his forearm. Hes so freaked. Why throw it on the ice? Do we just kill these evil things? Nah man were gonna eat it. He almost pukes in his mouth hahaha. We got off the ice about 6am, with limit of walleye and ling. I unhooked the rest he caught lol Get home to some cold beers as I prep the fish His first bite looks like hes about to taste alien brains. Second and 3rd bite he gets it Ok, these fish are creepy but I can see why you keep them Now he hits me up at least once every ice season for a ling fish???

Thats the only way I can actually catch them??? Nightime on the ice and its fish after fish Ive only caught one in the daytime and its my pb at just under 5lbs

Its super easy. You dont need to give banking info. Once its set up you just do a money transfer from your bank account. Its totally anonimous if you choose that way. We dont need pms either, we just start a thread that im sure the mods of OFC would "stickie" to the top of the page. I work at new gold and the money is flowing. I could easily spread the word and have co workers and possibly even companies donate. I have alot of big contacts and ive done this before. Every year they donate to my family day "elvis debungee memorial family fishing derby: Its a write off for them and it looks good on the company(s). If I get the go ahead Ill do it in a heartbeat. Like you said even $5 bucks can make a difference and it adds up quick! Ill personally up the ante and pledge $100 up front just to get the ball rolling. Again, its all up to pikeslayer so you say the word and Ill make it happen. Anything to help a brother out especially a strong family man with real issues do deal with.
