Another bitten by the 100 to 1 comment ratio of NF to Fishing posts!

  2. wicked nice fish RC! Congrats! Looks very fat too!
  3. lake of the woods tomorrow and monday! Hell yes!!!!

  4. I can't remember how I did it? But I initially switched to the new photobucket and hated it. Then somehow I was able to switch back to the old photobucket. Wish I could tell you how, but I honestly can't remember??? original photobucket was 10X better IMO
  5. Well, figured out some good patterns at a derby in Big Island Lake of the Woods last weekend, so me and some family members decided to head out again with lesser crowds. Head out tomorrow am, and were gonna try to hit walleye/crappie on a few good reefs we found. The deadstick/lipless crank combo was on fire the day after the derby (D'oh). Trying out a new to me Vexilar flasher tomorrow too, can't wait!!! Who else is heading out? and what are y'all fishing for?
  6. I like the shots of Jack scooping, I'd blow those up and frame em if I was you!
  7. I just reverted back to the original photobucket. I like it much better
  8. 2 small entries for team 3!

Way to go!! Small is better than none!!

  9. My biggest is 32" at 12lbs. But I've caught alot right near that length/weight. Last year prefishing with my bud down in the sault narrows, he hooked a monster walleye. As it approached the boat I wished we had a longer net. I made one scoop at her and missed. The fish then broke the line at the top of the water about 6 feet from the boat. The tailsplash as she escaped was as heartbreaking as it was a thing of beauty. I'd guess 35" but its tough to tell on a fish like that. It was a spring pig too. We were both very bummed
  10. damn that sucks! I really liked nomap, I hope it returns
  11. and I'm sure alot of anglers use nootropics. Even though most are legal, they would indeed offer a great advantage against those not using them
  12. Yessir! Even HGH helps rejuvenate joints/ligaments/tendons/synovial fluid etc I think that could certainly help a person that spends literally thousands of hours standing in a boat, year after year, for many many years
  13. thats exactly what I was referring too. Imagine the nerves associated with say the Bassmaster Classic? All those anglers are very talented anglers, but a benzo or anxiolytic agent takes the nerves off, what are you left with? A confident angler And kickingfrog, thats why I mentioned modafinil. It's used as a stimulant but also increases focus. In a big tourny situation, that would certainly be a huge benefit. Hell even fighter pilots use it, is that considered a "sport"? lol
  14. Yeah, he's 11. He's already addicted, lol, he loves fishing, and he's very good at it too! He's got a fair amount of tackle to boost, but I don't mind rewarding him with things that help him do what he loves to do. One thing I love to see is that he really appreciated any fish out there. He loves smallies, largies, pike, laketrout, perch and walleye all in the same. Oh, and he loves tying knots, lol. Kid knows more knots then I do, even ties his owns harnesses! Thanks for the kudos, but I'm sure many of the parents on this board do just the same for their children
  15. Other doping agents I could really see helping (ie Modanifil) but not steroids or growth hormones. Also, nootropics and anxiolytic drugs could help an angler in a tourny IMO But I just have to laugh at the notion of using drugs to fish. So rediculous
  16. Well turns out my boy is staying at the grandparents for the weekend, so the surprise will have to wait. Heres what I found for his tackle box though! Gonna be like Christmas all over! Never did find those Storm Smash Shads though, bummer. I can't wait to try those for walleye in the spring
  17. Yeah he'll love it i'm sure. I guess ill be searching for some baits dor his tackle box tomorrow. Im gonna see if they have any of those storm smash shads, he liked the looks of those.
  18. thanks again for all your input fellas! Truly appreciated. I might just buy another tomorrow anyways, just cause I got snaked, lol
  19. Well loose lips sink ships! My boy finished 2nd in the A division this past weekend in his hockey tourny, so somebody, beat me to the punch, lol(darned grandparents). Damn. I hope he likes it I'm still going shopping tomorrow regardless, lol He got the Berkley Lightning Shock 6ft, with the Shimano Cajus. I spooled it up with some mono cause I know he's gonna wanna practice when he gets here!
  20. Geez ya at least that lol
  21. Thanks for the advice, but I checked our local CT and all they had left handed was the shimano cajus, and a whole wack of new bass plastics that I had to grab some of, lol I'll peak at Great Bear but it's mainly middle to higher end in the reel department
  22. Well I'm taking him tomorrow, I'll let yall know what we end up with In the meantime feel free to ad more suggestions. I'll go over them after work tonight! and thanks again!
  23. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think it'll actually be a bigger surprise. Seeing as we have to make a 50 minute drive to get there and such, I think he'll appreciate that! Your a good dood Sinclair!
  24. Yeah agreed, thanks for the input BillM. Any more thoughts on a rod? I'm thinking i'd like to stay in that $50-$75 range for a 6ft medium. I seen a 6ft Vendetta if my memory services me correct for $69 (meh, just checked, its a 6'3")
