  1. I agree with Glen, hate when people hold them all the way out, are we supposed to think the bass is 4 feet long? lol
  2. I haven't been up yet, but am planning on going in a few weeks, still too early
  3. Didn't try for any Walleye, LM weren't hitting much either. Was targeting Pike. The owner of the campground told me that someone 2 weeks ago caught a 47 inch muskie. It's a really deep lake, with tons of drop off's, one minute you could be fishing 5-10 fow with weeds, the next minute you are in 40 - 50 fow, and then back to 10 fow within the next minute. Depth finder is a must.
  4. Last summer I tried fishing the Holland river south of 88 quite a few times, only managed a couple bass and a decent pike. I think it's a lot better in the spring.
  5. Just got back from Talon Lake, up near North Bay. Figured I would do a report. Thursday Day 1. Stopped at Callander Bay on the way up for about an hour, got one hit, think it was a pike that's it. Friday Day 2. Talon Lake. Got out in the morning, weather was nice. The fishing was pretty tough with the wife getting the first fish, a small maybe 20 inch pike on a spinner bait. Nothing in the evening, I lost a couple bass, they were hitting a top water lure but not staying on. We were trying everything in different depths. Saturday Day 3. Morning fishing, I ended up catching a smaller maybe 18 inch pike on a top water walk the dog lure, and the wife caught 3 more pike during the day, biggest one might have been 24 inches. During the day I text-ed Rob (TrophyPikeHunter) We fish with him regularly on cooks bay. He suggested we try slower soft plastic swim-baits. So went out to Canadian Tire and picked up a couple. Went back out that evening, third cast in got a really nice 12 pound 35 inch pike! great fight, caught and released. Sunday Day 4. Fished the morning, no luck, and the rain pushed us off the water. All in all decent trip, but I really wanted a 40"
  6. Thanks for the update, not really a walleye guy but I might try for some.
  7. Thanks ALOT guys, can't wait to get up there! Johnny do you mean launch from Darling Harbour?
  8. I see that all the time on the highways, it must be legal. That's what I want to do eventually
  9. Wow, definitely want to book a trip like that soon!
  10. Well I am up there for 4 days, so I figured I would try for a trophy pike on Nippissing
  11. Awesome show, must be exhausting doing all the camerawork yourself.
  12. Another question, anyone know where to launch at Callander Bay?
  13. From what I've read so far I think I will fish Callander bay for pike and bass. If that doesnt workout might go trolling in the deeper water.
  14. Going out to North bay next weekend, camping on Talon lake, but am thinking of hitting up Nippissing aswell. Where should I look for Pike? anyone know what fow? I know they are in 15-25 fow on Cooks Bay.
  15. Weather channel kinda screwed me too, they just said a little bit of rain this morning, then t-storms in the afternoon. Went out onto Cooks Bay at 7am, was already raining quite a bit, got off at 9:30am still hadn't stop raining. Decent day though between the two of us caught 3 pike, one over 30"
  16. TD doesn't cover owners of boats that are under 25 now
  17. I was just wondering what insurance company you guys recommend for my 16' sylvan with a 40 merc, in Simcoe area? Any bad experiences with companies? What would the payments be around? Thanks
  18. Might have to pay off a farmer to get access to somewhere remote on the river. Then keep it quiet
  19. looks like you caught alot as the ice was setting in, I will be trying different areas this coming fall. I figured last year with all the rain they went right through, guess I was right. Nice fish
  20. Angus, no one was catching hardly any
  21. Man, wish I was fishing in the 80's... well I was, but I was 4, when sunfish were fun
  22. Last year was brutal for rainbow in the notty, not sure if there was too much rain or what, I know there was a big damn north of angus. The previous year I fished half the time and caught twice as many rainbow.
  23. I fish the Notty every fall, and it's usually the middle of September they start to run, then a few weeks later the rainbow start to come up. Depending on the amount of rain and temperature.
