  5. Thanks Guys! I usually don't fish simcoe so I don't really know all the hot spots, I have been fishing in and around the north part of cook's bay is the fishing for smallies better near barrie, beaverton or northern simcoe? Also is the smallmouth season open until November 15th? I rarely fish later then october, I know the bass season closes in November just not sure what date? Will definately be there until the close of the season if the weather holds up! Thanks again Everyone!
  6. Beauty Smallie, A real HOG! Congrats on you PB
  7. Nice Smallie, that is a HORSE will hopefully hook into one before the end of the season
  8. Great Report! The last fish is a real horse!
  9. Headed out to Simcoe on Friday to try my luck for some smallies Was on the water before the sun was even up and was fishing in 25-30 FOW and was getting lots of fish but not the size that I wanted. Lots of 1-2 lber but no horses. I was using tubes and decided to go to another spot where I caught a couple of better fish but sill not real hogs. Here are a couple of the fish that I caught nothing huge but nice smallies Then I decided to go shallow and work a jerkbait over a rocky point and hit a couple of bass both around 3 lbs. Then finally I hooked into this nice fish in about 15 FOW After that the bite had slowed down and I moved into deeper water and started dragging tubes and all of a sudden I feel a light tap on the line so I set the hook and can feel right away that it is a horse! I bring the fish to the boat and my friend has one on at the same time! Double header and both Giants we bring the fish to the boat and I net mine but he loses his. I throw the fish in the livewell and go for another drift and whack! Fish on! I got these two footballs within a span of 5 mins! Quick pic and back they go, I make several more drifts over the area and manage to pull out several more hogs off the same area in around 28 FOW! We got 5 fish total and lost about 3 nice ones! All the fish came on tubes that we were just dragging on bottom. All the fish weight between 4 and 5 lbs and the biggest weighed in at 4.85 lbs! This was the biggest weight on fish that I have ever caught, it was around 21.3 lbs total for the day and great day of fishing! I still have to beat my PB smallie of 6 lbs but hope that this fall simcoe will help me accomplish this! Today we got quality and quantity and simcoe is my new favorite lake for smallies!
  10. Nice batch of fat smallies there and a really nice pike also!
  11. Headed out on Simcoe on Saturday to try my luck for smallies on Simcoe, first time out on the lake this year and my goal for the day was not to get skunked! I hit a couple rock piles and points in about 10-20 ft of water and only managed to pull out a 1 lb smallies throwing a lucky craft pointer. So I then decided to go deep! I usually don't fish 30 ft of water for smallies but marked a couple of fish on the screen and decided to give it a go! I ended up landing 5 fish within an hour of fishing! I was using an assortment of tubes. I continued to fish the area for about another 2 hours and ended up landing about 15 fish in the boat. Most of the fish were between 1-2 lbs but I had hooked into 3 footballs as well. These 3 footballs were over 4 lbs and one was coming close to 5 lbs but could only get a picture of the first 4 lber because my friends camera battery died! I have never seen such fat fish! All of the fish were smashing tubes that I was either dragging or popping in 25-30 FOW. I am definately going to give simcoe another go and will have the battery fully charged! Overall great day on the water and almost no wind so didn't have to battle the waves! Here is the average size of the fish that were caught Here is the average size of the 3 Hogs that I caught
  12. Congrats on the Nice Muskie! Really nice good lookin fish and I am sure you will be setting some more PB before this season is done!
  13. Nice Smallie! I remember seeing it on WFN when you got the 7.23 lbs smallie that was a HOG! Nice fish, I was also wondering which you would recommend to fish for big smallies this time of year more main lake Simcoe or Couchiching? PM if you can thanks!
  14. Hey Guys Hit the tribs twice these past couple of weeks, with great success both times! First time I went on my own to scope it out and see if the salmon had come in yet. To my suprise they were in! I hooked about 4 fish but only was able to land one salmon and since I was by myself it was hard to get a picture but I got one. I was using a variety of spoons and spinners, the same stuff that I use for steelhead in the late fall and winter. To my suprise I was trying out a large williams wabler when all of a sudden in a deep pool I felt a WHACK, set the hook and right away I saw that it was a BIG brown! I got really nervous since the salmon didn't matter as much but this was the biggest brown trout of my fishing career on the line. It put up a nice fight but not as strong as the salmon. I brought it to a shallow area set up the camera and took one quick pic, wasn't the best picture but this was a big fish! Does anyone know how much this fish weighs? I would say over 10 lbs any ideas guys? I know its hard to tell from the pic but this was a big male brown! I released him right away and decided to call it a day! That was enough excitement for one day. Here are the two pics! Then I told my friend that we should go salmon fishing and he was pumped up since he has never been river fishing or caught a salmon for that matter. When he saw me hook into one he was really excited just to be able to land the fish! I kept trying to get him to hook up because I really wanted him to get his first salmon so for most of the day I kept coaching him and telling him where to fish and cast. He caught on quickly and then all of sudden he hooked into a nice female. After fighting the fish for about 10 min and he did a great job fighting the fish he landed his first Salmon. This guy was definately the happiest guy on the river and its great to see him now really hooked on fishing! He keeps bugging me to take him again and he already got waders and can't wait for me to show him steelheading. We used a mix of spoons, spinners and roe bags as well as those berkley pink worms. I actually hooked this nice brown on the pink worm. It was a great day on the water until I dropped my camera in the water, the memory stick survived but the camera didn't ! Here are the last pics the camera took. Nice brown hen! One happy guy! This female was really heavy you can see from my facial expression
  15. Sorry guys for posting the first too pics of the largies, I forgot the policy of no OOS fish! Hope I didn't offend anyone won't happen again and took the pics down! We were actually targeting pike with my grandpa in a small inlet of moon river and happened to hook these two nice buckets by accident. I can assure you that they were quickly released! I put up the pike picture instead it is not as big as the bass but I can assure you it is in season! Sorry once again and I hope that the beaver pic is not an OOS catch will check the regs but he was a live release LOL!
  16. Hey Guys Here is an early season pike I caught on the a pink x-rap in the moon river area! Caught about 5 pike that size and a couple bass by accident but all were released Then me and a couple friends headed up to Net lake in the Temagami area and hooked into some nice smallies and a couple pike Found this guy all alone in the middle of the lake! Almost hit him with the boat saw the beaver dam by the shore so gave him a lift to safety! Went camping near Killbear Provincial Park and hooked some of these nice bass on Flipping Jigs! All of them in about 5 feet of water around logs And of course the Worlds Greatest Sport Fish! The always great fighter the rock bass!
  17. Another report from this summer! Didn't keep up on my reports so catching up now! Went carp fishing at night with my grandpa and hooked this nice fish on a sinker and corn! Great Fight! Went again a couple days later and landed this nice one right under one of the trent river locks! These fish are amazing fighters! Great fun from shore! If anyone wants to hook into some nice carp visit any of the trent locks and they are stacked with fish!
  18. Hey Guys Haven't posted in a while so will post a few reports to catch up. Haven't been posting but have been doing a lot of fishing! Hit the lower Niagara twice this past week and hooked into some smallies! Never really fished the Niagara on my boat before but decided to give a shot so went out with my dad and grandpa and since there was not much structure decided to fish the weedlines and the niagara bar between 20ft and 30ft of water. I knew the gobies were around so all of us were either throwing tubes or goby imitations and the bass were on fire! First trip we caught 14 bass between the 3 of us and the next trip 25 smallies! Not all monsters but lots of fun here are some of the bigger ones of the two trips. All of my bass were caught on tubes and many strange colours seemed to work so I experimented and almost any colour of brown or green worked well! I was using my shimano stradic reel for the first time and it is my new favourite reel! The stradic is an amazing reel from the smooth drag to the ultra smooth reeling it is amazing! I would suggest for people to be careful if you are planning on fishing the Niagara there are some really high current areas where going overboard could be deadly! Life jackets are a strong reccomendation!
  19. Nice fish and big fish, big numbers are expected when you head out with CC! Congrats on the PB
  20. Hey Guys! After reading all of the successful opener reports, I couldn't resist and had to give it a go myself! Headed out today in search of some chrome and the conditions were very windy, very sunny and very clear water! I was only able to get out for a couple hours but had a great time! Went with my gut and stuck to spinners and spoons today and it paid off! Went 1/3 and landed only the smallest fish of the 3! It's okay though still nice to see a little chrome not as big as I was catching them in november but still nice! It was good that I caught this fish because about 5 min before landing this little guy I was ready to throw my rod in the water! I got to a log jam and made a couple drifts and after about 20 min there I thought I snagged the log until it started to slowly move! I knew it was a big fish but was not prepared at the size of this fish until it made a screaming run into the shallow water! This fish I hooked was way over 15 lbs and pushing 20 lbs easily the biggest steelhead I have ever hooked or seen! My heart was racing as the fish was peeling line and then turned around and headed straight back into the log jam that it was hooked in and as hard as I tried there was no stopping this frieght train! Couple of wraps around the log and it broke off and that was devastating! I felt like tossing my rod in the water since not only did I lose my favourite spoon but the biggest steelhead of my life ! Then 5 min later I hooked this little guy and this fish definately lifted my spirits because I really needed a confidence booster and with this fish and loosing one more decent fish I called it a day and I will be coming back for the monster steelie and my lucky spoon! Went alone today so had to set the camera in the grass on a timer so that picture isnt the best but here it is!
  21. Wow nice fish! No suprise from you though CC!
  22. Nice fish guys! Looking forward for some action angling episodes
  23. Fake for sure! Lots of give aways, no shadow, different lighting, zoom in you can see the cut out fish!
  24. Congrats on your first carp and they will only get bigger from there! Nice to see you and your dad out on the water! Keep the reports coming!
