  3. Hi, Im going up north with a few friends to do some bass fishing. I know of a backwoods lake less then than an hour from where we are thats stocked with splake. Fished it in the winter and done well. Its a nice lake. may want to get away for a few hours...Think any will be biting with this heat? Any tactics that are recomended?

  5. I'll Change ot to "ATVAHOLIC_WITH_2_KIDS"...that should explain it :-)
  6. Yeah, but I cant actually change the ownership until the loan is paid, correct?
  7. Hi, thinking of selling my ATV, no time to ride it anymore. The question I have is that I have some payments left on it, how will that work when selling?
  8. I've always liked the sound coming from takamine guitars. The shop here in the falls has a few in the price range.
  9. Hey, I may be interested - I have a 65 Gallon Aqaurium - Just the tank, lid and filter. Maybe we can work something out.

  10. Nice Specks!! Good time for sure. I just got back and I know what you mean about the bite being "timid"
  11. Well After Many Years, I finally decided to go up to algonquin for a spring fishing trip. None in my party of 4 are avid outdoorsmen, so we decided to keep the portaging to a minimum. I hauled my tent camper up to set up a base camp then we set out each day on short portages. The first day, we woke up at 5 am, made breakfast and headed out. We put our canoe in the first lake at 6:30 am. I haven't been in a canoe since I was 16 so I was a little nervous. The guy in the front was on the rowing team, so I let him take the lead. So we have 2 canoes with 2 guys each. We are way in the lead as my canoe had the experienced rower on it. The two guys in the back canoe were going every which direction, so there was alot of ball busting going on. Since we had a comfortable lead, we decided to pull up to a nice sandy area on an island and wait for them. We paddle towards shore increasing speed...then all of a sudden...BANG! We hit a rock we didnt see that was below the surface and went right in the lake!! Now the two guys behind us are hunched over in laughter!!! My GPS and fishing rod are at the bottom of the lake, buddies camera was secured to the canoe but was soaked....Uggg. I was floating in the lake, by buddy was near the rock, so he was only in up to his hip...I was drenched head to toe. Damn, that water was cold!!! I retreived my GPS (it was still ON!) and fishing rod and made my way to shore. I laid my clothes out to dry and waited as I had a snack. I put on my spare clothes and we set off again...we made it to our destination with no more issues. We made it to our destination and started fishing. I have a few pictures with my crappy camera as my buddies is out of commission :-( 1. Saw a total of 8 of these 2. Me and the boys enjoying a nice stiff drink as we fish 3. Finally!! I got a decent one!! 4. A days Catch! A few small ones swallowed the hooks :-( So i'd like to thank the few on this board who helped me out by posting their adventures and also for the advice.. A few lessons learned: 1. Garmin GPS really are waterproof!! 2. Camera's are not 3. The only time on your trip you see two cute girls going by in a canoe, your buck naked on shore trying to dry your clothes. I'm sorry for scaring you, ladies.... 4. Canoes really do suck. Even before the incident, the damn thing was as tipsy as I have seen..it will take awhile before I get back into one. 5. There is always one buddy who will take cell phone pictures of you when your changing your clothes and naked, without your knowledge 6. There really is nothing like catching brook trout(even if they are small) in a remote lake with your buddies
  12. Great Report, it looks like it was a great time. Nice Square Tails!
  13. I have a aqua vu quad (4 cameras to get a 360 view). The camera itself works great, but the first time I used it, the camera got stuck on some timber on the bottom of the lake and would not come out. Ended up pulling the wires out..
  14. Hi..I finally took this thing out of the package...line stripper works good. Tried to thread on some line, made sure the line was tight while I spooled it on, but it seems to come off the reel easy. Anyone have one of these? Is there a trick to it?
  15. Hi...anyone know where I can get some uncured fish roe? Definatly don't have time to get it the old fashioned way..
  16. I agree, but I live 2 hours away and hope someone could give some report on the water conditions. i think im going to try tommorow...was anyone out today?
  17. Hi - Was thinking of hitting some of the lake O tribs this weekend..has there been enough rain to mess them up?
  18. There are a ton of trails around lake st. peter and bancroft (not sure how far that is for you). I think you may require a permit for bancroft but lake st. peter is all crown land. i go up there a few times a year and ride 7 - 8 hours per day without using the same trails. My understanding is you can only ride the snowmobile trails that are on crown land. If youy want more specific info, IM me.
  19. Hmmm, that sucks!! I never thought about that. Now I know you need a CSA vest. If I am fishing in a canoe or float tube - is that still a requirement?
  20. 462 - No, it's not infltable.
  21. Musky: There are no markings on any kind to indicate that it is...does that mean it's no good? Or does it just mean its not approved?
  22. Hi! I am the lucky owner of a life vest given to me by my cousin. He had a tenant that was evicted from his apartment, and he left some stuff behind. I looked it up and found it here. The thing is pretty much brand new. Seems well built and lots of pockets for goodies. I cant seem to find any information about weight capacity on the jacket. I also notice it does not have a belt clip in the front. Does not look like there was one. Is anyone familiar with these?
  23. Awesome! I love when he looks up at it and says "What'd i do to you??"
  24. Hi, located in Niagara. Not sure what "MEC" stands for.... So is gore-tex that good that it's worth 3 - 4x the cost? Just curious...
  25. Hi, im trying to decide on an entry level rain jacket/wind breaker. I plan to do some canoeing and portaging. i found two that seem in my price range, and went to see them. First there is this one I went to try it. It seems to be the better built of the two (slightly). It is a bit heavier, as it seems to have a "mesh" layer inside - not sure why this is. This one also has a pouch to stow away the hood - the other does not. I also tried this one: This one is a fraction lighter. The zipper is not as good. But the one thing I do like is that it has some vents for heat to escape - the first one does not. i will be using this for some spring and early summer canoeing/fishing/portaging. i'm a big guy so rowing that boat will work up a big sweat. Do you think this will be an issue with the first one (even if I layer down?) They are both nylon, I dont know how "breathable" they are.
