  1. Work for me too - off to try & sell some of what Mike is making (should try & get some of yours on the shelf Mike!). This working for a living sure interferes with fishing! Michael
  2. Randy - watch that Rod Caster fella - he's another one who's been seen occasionally hanging around somewhere y'all left a hat. But now that he's in your neck of the woods I find it much quieter here... damn! Saturdays don't work for me cause I work 'em! Michael
  3. At last - A new (to me) one!
  4. Hardly any snow here and the forecast doesn't show anything above zero except for Saturday, minus 18c tonight. May be a good thing, y'all know how fast the forecast can change. North end of Simcoe & what I can see of Cooch seem covered as well as of this evening just before dusk. Not that I'd trust it yet of course, but a good start if the temps cooperate. Michael
  5. Ice as far as I can see this morning before I left. Guess it skimmed over last night. Too dark when I got in to see very far but no open water where I could see. Doubt it's more than a skim but if it holds who knows...? Michael
  6. Just a bit in some of the shallow bays (like mine on the north end). Wouldn't care to venture out on it at all yet. Michael
  7. Dunno why but I voted fer ya. We have to talk about this "googling" of yourself, doesn't sound healthy.... Michael
  8. The gv offering confusing information? Not likely. No worries, one more day and I'm a civi again. That's what I meant - after you're a "civi" you'll be able to get it right! You must be getting a little antsy about now... Michael
  9. He's still working for the guvment - 'nuf said! Michael
  10. Trailer park is already closed for the season. I also heard of another launch over by the airport but haven't been down that way yet. Michael
  11. Lake St. John has a fairly decent launch right by the Stepan Plant. Take Longford Mills road east to the end, slow down as you pass the plant or you'll be in the lake! Michael
  12. Is this the one you had the expert pilot drive you around on for a minute or two?
  13. you haven't moved there... yet! best of luck!

  14. No personal experience but I have seen them used as ice huts when I lived in Trenton. I would check on how well they can be heated, after all they are a hunting blind intended to be shot out of as opposed to fishing from. Michael
  15. How does it look for the final assembly to pass through a rod's guides? Is it smooth enough to not pick up weeds? One of my biggest peeves is the algae blooms here on Lake St. John accumulating on my braid to fluro splices. Michael
  16. I have to admit wondering about it myself solopaddler. Something to try for sure. Just wondering about properties of the p-line adhesive vs the super glue's, flexibility of the tube etc. I might just try it one winter's day when I'm bored, unless you beat us all to it! Michael
  17. I'll also check with my wholesalers to see if they have any plans for it. I was wondering myself about the tube shrinking - seems it would be best if it would. You'll probably get your hands on it before I can, Garry. Looking forward to hearing about it! Michael
  18. Finally took a moment to google it (can't do much else on a holiday). The only North American result was fishermanswarehouse.com in California. 19.99 u.s. per kit. There was a whole wack of Italian sites along with the Australian, be interesting to see when it becomes a stock item here. Michael
  19. This sure could put an end to the "which knot to use" discussions Garry. Now I gotta see where it can be found to try it.... Michael
  20. Pretty sure the prop shop on James St. in Orillia does both prop & skeg repairs. Michael
  21. It's still there and he's been there too. His "stuff" is on the wall. When you coming again? Maybe I'll print yours on the computer this time instead of using my crayons Michael
  22. Hey pal - you should let your buddy know when you need tackle, never know what I got up my sleeve! Just so happens..... Michael
  23. PM me and we'll trade notes - I'm finding nothing but bass & pike it seems! Michael
  24. I'd really like to know more about this "ministry putting in the chemical". The two locals I've talked to know nothing of it and they've been here for life. When I mentioned this they went ape because they usually are informed of such things. Is there a source you can quote for this lovetofish? Thanks! Michael
  25. Weeds are right up top in many areas now (right where I dock too of course!) Algae blooms very visible but most of this is nearer to shore. Outside the beds are a lot of torn up fresh weed floating around. Not sure what's tearing them up, don't see a lot of boats fishing. I just know one thing - I'm fishing and that's that! YAAAAAYYY! Michael
