  1. INTERSTATE have used them and sold them for some years now and have had no issues with them
  2. Merc didn't make a 4 stroke in 88, it's a 2 stroke. Drop the gearcase pull the plugs if it still stops turning over by hand it's a rod.
  3. I have used this for the past 2 seasons and put it in the boats I winterize and store. I am recommending it to all my customers especially with to-days fuel and the long periods of sitting idle. The ethanol that is put in the fuel to-day is hydroscopic and that means it attracts water especially if the container is open and the gas sits in the tank for more than a week. Gas will deteriorate meaning, it looses it's octane, in as little time as a week. The fuel will not combust as thouroghly and you will get more deposits accumulating in the engine. I am also using shell gas and have seen noticeable difference on the spark plugs, less deposits. Gas is made for cars not outboards or small engines so the dynamics are different and the fuel companies know this. I think that's why shell came up with there nitrogen enriched fuel. Startron is especially formulated for to-days fuel, with more ehtnaol and most additives are not thaking this into consideration. I have found my engines to run smoother and the plugs come out cleaner. Just my seat of the pants opinion and I see alot of engines in a season.
  4. I make my own fishing rods and have been for the past 3 years. How may other guys make their own and where do you get your supplies from??? Anyone doing it as a business??? What types of rods have you built for your-self or someone else???? Thanks Michael
  5. Thanks to the good natured animal rights activists C&R is now BANNED in Germany and many other European countries are thinking of following suit. Maybe your teacher is European.
  6. I just read the rabbit snare thread and was wondering if there is someone that can tell me how to hunt the coyotes that cross our property. Thanks
  7. Ron did that HDS have gps or was it the plain fishfinder for that price.
  8. My huskies are still praying for your dog. Glad to hear she is better.
  9. Thanks Cliff, I've been using the store bought fixins for a few years now and have been concerned about the amount of nitrates I'm ingesting. Have wanted a HOMEMADE recipie. Will give it a try.
  10. Less than 10% and I was wrong as to the percentage falling overboard it's closer to 75% and 40% of the fatalities invloved alcohol, so there are more drunks out there than we know. And to say I'd rather see a a bunch of drunks out canoeing than a controlled boat going fast driven by an experienced SOBER driver scares me. It's a bass boat just to get the record straight and you'd look good out there surrounded by all those drunken canoeists but you'd probably be spending more of your time pulling them from the water than actually enjoying yourself on the water. Have you ever tried to piss from a canoe when your intoxicated. The water looks awfully deep and cold. You missed my point obviously
  11. Interesting fact 60% of all fatalities on the water are alcohol related and these fatalities were from falling overboard while URINATING THEIR LAST ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE!!!! So guys drink up if you want to risk becoming a marshmellow, thats what the rescue people call you after you have been submerged for a few week or so. Hopefully you would pop up to the surface after a day or so from bloating but if it's too deep and real cold water you will not be found possibly, all for a BEER. Hardly seems worth it if you have a wife and kids to come back to. Why not get a really fast boat and get your thrills from that, I know that a 20 minute run at 70 plus mph in my boat is better than any drink I ever had. And speaking of governments that want to treat you like a child, thats what was elected, a legislating liberal agenda meant to label everyone a possible tax cash cow throuygh fines levies and user fees. At least the conservatives let you die first before they introduced legislation to limit each persons personal freedom. I'm OK if you personal freedoms don't infringe on mine.
  12. You guys are making me feel old. We had a shooting range at my school and from grades 5 to 8 I shot after school. No one tried to kill anyone in the school, no goth no emo's no jocks, no real cliques and no CELL PHONES, even though there were some lunnies myself included. If you know what you are you can always spot it in someone else. Dara to finish the thought, some of the changes they want to make are to eliminate renewal fees and the penalties, misfish is speaking of, they also want to eliminate some redundant jobs, I agree this was a tax grab, I don't agree with the registry for existing long guns unless they are semi-auto capable of easily being modified to fully auto. Unless your hunting man I don't see the need for an automatic weapon. I know the only press this issue gets is when the police budgets are being discussed and this registry becomes necessary a tool for law enforcement. And we all know some tools are useful some aren't and some in the hands of neophytes can lead to dangerous ends, which is my fear that someone hacks into the database and gets access to all the info or the government of the day uses it for political purposes ie election demographics. Remember big brother was created during the 30's and is growing in it's power via the fear created by our politicians in their effort to try and convince us they are making legislation to protect us I'd love to go back in time but the technology we have to-day with respect to fishing is hard to give up. I like my Loomis rods and flippin jigs and would be hard pressed to go back to the fibreglass, closed faced reel and red devils spoons. They didn't have kevlar so my boat would be alot slower. I don't mind they crap that goes on to-day but I see the use of the word "LIKE" as a staple in the vocabulary of to-days youth as a far more detriment to our society, illiteracy, than a dysfunctonal gun registry. Conservative governments let us make our own mistakes and then make legistation, liberals just make legislation and then realise they made a mistake.
  13. das Vergnügen ist alles touche meinig Rich anytime you are in the area stop by, Big Rideau is one of my favorite lakes to fish. Cliff I work on everything but I started as a motorcycle mechanic and ended up working for several marine dealers so I have lots of outbaord knowledge(master tech johnson/evinrude and merc certified) I am also president of a small but humble bass club BAOO, make my own fishing rods and some plastics as well as retailing some fishing tackle and rods so I have plenty of excuses to go fishing, gotta check this new rod or new lure, just made a new color plastic minnow and have to lake test it the excuses go on and on. It's a wonder how I get any work done at all.
  14. Thanks for the welcome. I am in the Smiths Falls/Carleton Place area specifically Franktown so if you know a courier Cliff hang on don't want to cause any friction between us so I'll let you retain the largess title I have some good tips to keep your motors running properly and save you money on unnecessary service. If your not going to use it for a couple,2, weeks, run fuel stabilizer, gas these days will go bad, loose octane, in a week, meaning if you use 87 regular fuel, in a week it can loose 2 points on it's octane rating, meaning you will be burning lower grade fuel than the motor requires. Winter fuel is not the same as summer fuel don't fill your tank in the fall before storage. I will post in the business section more about my business as it includes more than just small engine repair And Mike is a great name
  15. walleyejigger has your vet tried contacting University of Guelph, I know they have some very bright minds there and do lots of consulting work. What worries me is that your vet has not seen nor heard of this. Lots of times professionals have professional egos and this can slow the prognosis. My 2 huskies are solicting the dog gods to perform a miracle.
  16. The problem as it was explained to me by an RCMP officer, is in the beginning it was administered by civillians and they had no idea how to set-up the registry and it cost taxpayers billions to get it started. That was under the liberals now the conservatives have given the administration back to the RCMP and they have a strategy to try and make the registry work. In the past all handguns were registered by and with the RCMP. The registry now is for long guns and being a country with more land than people firearms are a necessity for some landowners. My suggestion was to give a free ipod to each gun owner when they register their weapons. It works in Toronto when they want to get guns off the streets which is where we need our gun owners to live. I always said I need a handgun to walk the streets of ottawa when I was younger to avert the attacks of suicidal terrorist squirrels who used to own the parks when the sun went down. Most police officers don't give much credance to the registry but it's the politicians who see this as a vote getter e Remember politicians are all about survival these days not running the government.
  17. That made my day thanks for reposting, they both look real cold
  18. Finally it's come to this selling sex to get donations

  20. Sometimes people medicine is the same as dog medicine. and most times alot cheaper. See if your vet will give you a presription for the eye drops from the pharmacy. I have eye drops that will decrease the pressure in my eyes when I get iritis. I had a dog a couple years back got cancer, one day all happy and dog like the next lethargic and hurting. It was hard to watch him get worse day by day. Sorry to hear about your dog.
