As of right now I am NOT driving to my hut do to slush. I am confident the ice is o.k. to support a full sized truck between the launch and my hut but the slush is realy hard on the vehicles. Freezes your brakes right up and makes driving home no fun. With such a short walk I will continue to use my sled or feet until the slush freezes....if it ever does.

That is just silly. I drove a short distance where I had checked the ice and was still nervous and cautious.

Still there this morning. Hood is completely under the ice.

Over an hour seems long for such a short distance "as the crow flies"? How long is the flight to your cottage on Temag?

Lots of good snowy areas. Just a few isolated pockets of slush.

Front end of a chevy Blazer with a plow went in the bay today about a kilometer away from my hut. He was pulling a hut out. At 6pm the plow, front end, and entire hood was under water. They were trying to save it with 4-wheelers but it was a losing battle. Lots of ice in most areas but always be careful with early ice.

On a serious note, not sure if or how slush would affect your landing????

Use the next larger size of buckshot spoon with the larger treble hook. Use bigger baits and bigger minnows.

Here is what the launch looks like at the end of Lansdowne Street in Callander. My hut is less then 5 minutes walk from the dock. Parking on the right towards the Cheif Commanda.

Here is some Hotel/Motel info. for those staying over night and needing accomodations. The closest hotel is Terrace Suites but that is alot of cash. Next closest is Pinewood Park (Clarion Resort) but it is expensive too. The closest cheaper hotel is the "Adult Entertainment" Moe-ze-on Inn (705) 494-4915. My suggestion is one of these three places. Rod Caster, I don't waste my time catching those minnows. Both keepers were 13".

Brian, it has been happening to me for about a month now.

Pretty good day at the hut. Me and a buddy ended up with 4 pike (one around 8 lbs.) 2 keeper walleye, 5 perch, and a herring.

I followed the link to his FB page and he holds all his fish "out" for the camera. Still a big fish. The angler lives in Nebraska.
