  1. #4----ORR, no-brainer...#27 Sittler, class act, still holds the most points in a game record, AND, still the greatest Leafs captain of all time. Also, no player has stood up to Leafs ownership/management they way he did when he tore the C off his jersey, and, did an interview for Hockey Night In Canada, when Lanny McDonald was traded.
  2. Good that you guys "broke the ice" on the ice fishing season. Still feeling like a bag of crap so probably a good thing I stayed home.
  3. Grangers, Shermans or Jimmy's (Rotten Ronnies)...all three are reputable. Used Grangers twice last year, was happy with the service provided. As stated above, bait, transportation and wood provided in the price. Grangers and Shermans are basically side by side down the hill at St. Williams...Jimmy has his huts out of Old Cut.
  4. Nice fish, but, I'm pretty sure it's a hen. Gotta love "ice and steel"
  5. Sounds very promising, Aaron!!! Would be good to have a braid that performs really well for some of those deep water Simcoe fish.
  6. Good luck, be safe, and (most importantly) post some pics!!! I'm already suffering from fishing withdrawal, and, it hasn't even been four weeks
  7. I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess, at this time of year. Living in Woodstock, I'm way too far from the Bay. Check the Quinte forum, call the Tackle shop recomended by Monsterman, or ask Dave himself. Use common sense...it is still really early, I don't plan on hitting Quinte until sometime in the new year.
  8. That is great news!! I know Lloyd recommends Dave's huts. Looking forward to getting out there with my own hut this year...now if CT would just put those Fin Bore III's on sale!!!
  9. That sucks for Simcoe!! Don't worry Terry, the "iceman cometh"!!!
  10. Not the Christmas song That "be" the sound of ice forming, boys and girls, men and women!!!!!! Nothing above freezing in the forecast down this way.
  11. Thanks for the info Gary and Aaron. The Sufix 832 definitely sounds like a good new option.
  12. Excellent results, Dave!! What a way to end the soft water season!!! Bring on that ice, now!
  13. Sloppy mess for sure!! Look on the bright side Terry, supposed to get cold for the next three days. Highs of around -6 with lows of -10 or colder down here. That will get that ice forming!!
  14. She's a cutie, Mike...gotta be a fishing tie-in somewhere...how about Cleo, lol!!!
  15. Nice, Wayne!!! Think I'm going to set up the hut in the backyard this weekend, fire up the heater, see if everything is ready to go. Maybe I'll dig a hole in the ground
  16. Sweet! Thanks guys!! Much better option than lugging the other one out.
  17. I have the model stated in the title. I'm going to be using it this ice season (has both graph and flasher modes). Anyways, my question is, which is my best/lightest battery option for it? I could get one of the little lawn and garden tractor batteries, but, even they weigh quite a bit for their size. I'm lugging everything on the ice (no sled or atv) so weight is a factor. Any suggestions, would be appreciated!
  18. Definitely not a pleasant thing to be going through. Good to hear that your spirits are high, looking forward to future fishing reports soon, Mike!!!!
  19. Just checked the Canadian Costco site...looks like this is only available through the US. Not that I'm interested in it...already have a Clam 2000 (pretty much the same thing) but that Garmin GPS next to it in the add, is still really tempting!! Still haven't picked one up.
  20. Hard to believe you guys can be so close to us in Woodstock, yet be getting it 10X worse!!!
  21. Congrats, Dave!! Nice to see a Canadian getting that position
  22. I wonder what the over/under is on the Leafs scoring 4 goals in the next week???
  23. I can read it no problem, as well...but, it drives me crazy, how in the modern era of texting (which personally I don't think anyone over the age of 18 should be doing) the english language is going to "hell in a handbag".
