Hi guys, I would like to get some help with proper spooling of centerpin reel to fish Niagara river. My current setup is Okuma Aventa 13'6" with spinning reel. I am pretty happy about it. I bought another rod from Kevin(OFC member - thanks again Kevin) to be my backup or primary rod. It's: I do have centerpin which is currently spooled with 330 yards of 6 Lb Sunline Mono, which is too light in my opinion for Niagara. Here it is: I need to know what kind of line should i use on it and also if i do need any backing on it. Where is an old post which is similar to mine but i hope some one can give me more up to date information. Thanks a lot.

Fished it in summer - pikes, smallies and some pan fish - was that i caught. As far as i know where is a healthy population of lake trout as well.

I own 2 cabelas guidewear suites - both are really good. I cant say who is better Cabelas or BPS, but Cabelas is giving lifetime warranty for guidewear.

Early season - Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie is awesome option for lakers and whities. Quite doable walking distance and pretty decent fishing.

Forgot to add get 2 separate bills for boat and motor and trailer. You will have to register trailer with ministry of transportation to get a license plate.

I used to tow my 14 footer with 25 hp Johnson with my Pontiac vibe. Had to put transmission cooler. Was OK to tow. I think subary will be better vechile to tow also awd is necessary sometimes. Once you will buy a boat you will have to change Ontario registration - simple process. Just Google it for necessary instructions and form.
