  1. LOL...it look about the right size doesn't it? Probably a little expensive to use those things every time out though....
  2. Nice report even though no fish! At least you two looked comfy in that hut! You'll get into 'em soon I'm sure. Thanks for the pics and report!
  3. Nice report and brave for the conditions! Glad to hear that you did well out on the ice.
  4. Nice job guys! With the cold and wind, you sure are hardcore! I'm sure you'll get into some nice eyes the next time you are out. Thanks for the report!
  5. It all depends where we are fishing. For Lake Ontario, I have found that a south, west or southwest wind has the best results for us. Moon phase has meant nothing, but barometric pressure is a big indicator. I must say however, since I am a shore fisherman, that the murkiness of the water is perhaps the biggest factor.
  6. Great report Ladywalleye!!! Nice pic and story....gave me a chuckle...haha.
  7. GCD - I have good luck with those JSR's....5 and 7. Caught a few nice ones with them this past fall/winter.
  8. Sometimes the signs are too many to ignore.....you did the right thing....never compromise safety for a few fish. You'll get out there again soon!!!
  9. Time for the chain saw to get into the shed??? Or do you have bolt cutters? hehe.
  10. Rick...did ya get the lock open?
  11. Welcome back to the board! Sorry...dont know about Black Lake, but I thought I'd post to bump the message for you. Look forward to your report!
  12. Just make sure he's not just "holding" the rod for you while you take a break....you just never know...LOL.
  13. Better luck next time Scott!! At least you got home before the snow squalls hit the area. Bly and I get skunked most nights we go out....we just post that we did....haha. After fishing with you that one time, I know the skunk will be off soon. It was uncanny when we went out...you said...you need new roe...then BANG a hit. Another time you said "gotta change the leaders and go a bit deeper"...then all of the sudden another hit. With skill and knowledge like that, you'll be posting some nice chromies again soon.
  14. Hey Hey....welcome to the best fishing forum on the net. Pull up a chair and stay a while!
  15. You did the right thing!! Sure...the fishing would have been great...but it's not worth getting hurt. The fish will still be there the next time. Better luck then!!!
  16. Wow!! Great fishing diary! Thanks for taking the time to write it up and post all those great pics. Some nice fish you got there. Look forward to your next report!
  17. My wife (Bly on the board) bought a 7 foot Pike combo from Canadian Tire for 34 bucks. It managed to pull in LOTS of big walleye this year...including her 15lb personal best. I bought a Mitchell combo ($39) as well from CT....have no complaints.
  18. Gerritt.... It's a special weather statement....not a warning. You can keep checking for updates at http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/warnings/sws_e.html Take care! Cliff
