  1. Back lake for sure! Leave the long weekend crowds behind. Fish in tranquility. When you have to work that hard to get to the location, then it's much more satisfying to catch them.
  2. Great job Kemper. That spot you were at has produced smallies for Bly and I this year as well. Like Canuck said, live leeches worked very well for us.
  3. Yep....I have a few of the ballcap style clip ons. They are LED lights so batteries last forever. Keeps hands free to do unhook fish, re-tie line etc.
  4. Yep....I have that problem...plus another one. I always at least double or triple the time I THINK it's going to take for a job....LOL. Plenty of 'simple' half hour jobs have taken several hours.....
  5. In another study, it was found that 90% of people that died drank coffee in the morning. Why isn't anyone telling the public about this alarming health hazard?
  6. Yes, I did hear about this....it was a freak accident from what I understand. Here's a link to the news story. http://www.nypost.com/seven/07312008/news/...rror_122360.htm FISHING-LURE HORROR By TODD VENEZIA and GINGER ADAMS OTIS A Long Island fisherman has died after a freak accident in which a weighted lure hit him in the eye and lodged in his brain. Jaime Chicas, 21, was angling on some rocks at Jones Beach at about 8 p.m. Friday when his line snapped back and a 3-ounce sinker recoiled violently, penetrating his eye socket and hitting his brain. Chicas' brother-in-law Jose Gonzalez, was about 30 feet away when he heard Chicas groaning. "We were just sitting there. It was pretty tranquil, kind of getting dark," Gonzalez told The Post. "We didn't see anything, but then my cousin and I both heard him groaning. We ran to him and he was down, lying on the rocks." "There was so much blood. We could see something had gone in his eye." Chicas was pronounced brain dead Tuesday at Nassau University Medical Center. He leaves behind a baby and a 19-year-old wife in El Salvador. He had come to the United States illegally about a year ago and was looking for work in Long Island.
  7. Would help if I could read eh?? LOL. Good luck!
  8. You should be fine at that time tomorrow. Morning rush is a lot lighter on Friday's of long weekends. Lot's of ppl are not going to work so the morning is good. Anytime after noon and you'll start hitting traffic though. No major construction on the 401 to hamper you....mind you, accidents are a pain the butt!!! Good luck on the drive and I hope the reunion goes well.
  9. There's a 46lb motorguide transom for sale in the classifieds section as well.
  10. No worries Jigger! From what I've heard from guys like Sinker, you are a really great guy....and if he'd have you on his boat anytime, then the same goes for me too. I know you never asked for spots....threads tend to go off on tangents sometimes. Anyhow...hope you're having a better day today.
  11. I agree with Billy Bob. I had a 30lb thrust that worked great in calm conditions with a similar sized tinny. A 40 will do you just fine I would think.
  12. You're all to bullheaded to come to an agreement on anything. Stop being so crappie to eachother.
  13. Hey there! Welcome to the board....once you get back into it, you'll be looking for a boat soon enough....LOL. Nice to meet you...pull up a chair, enjoy and ask your questions. You may not always find what you are looking for, but what do you want for free?
  14. But.... Friday of long weekend....morning traffic is usually very light....it's the afternoon that will kill you. Any other commuters have the same experience? Usually, it's about a 45 minutes ride for me from Oshawa to Yonge/Eglinton....but tomorrow it'll be closer to 30 to 35 minutes. I leave at 630am.
  15. Hey now...that was a monster of a fish!!!
