Can't blame them for trying...

LOL James!! Rob B stepped out of Lloyd's van a few years ago on Simcoe and missed one of those by a foot.. width of his foot !
-
So it's you that drills those leg breaker holes Emil !! Good day for you.. and James it looks like!

Yes Mike! I understand the smallies are pretty abundant on Evelyn, like everywhere else in the area they seem to be breeding and taking over like wild fire, as nobody targets them that much.

Great stuff Nick... but be cautious of "taunting" and what it might bring you. It's a cruel cruel world out there... Beer and a sippy cup.. lol

I noticed you'd mellowed in the first response G. I kept mine pretty open ended as well. Like you said... you don't know what you'd do until you have the misfortune of walking in their shoes. My good fishing friend was told 3 years ago to go home and get his stuff in order as he wouldn't see his next birthday... as there was nothing modern medicine could do for him. He's disease free today thanks to a somewhat natural medicine. What works for one, doesn't work for others. I've watched them come and unfortunately go, with a fairly tight "family" in the sarcoma unit that keep in touch. Identical Sarcomas.. identical treatments and unfortunately not identical outcomes.

Nope.. be fishin!

Affirmative on both counts Joey... I've seen, heard, been told and been involved in way too many decisions on what path to take in the last 5 years and can only believe we've made the right decisions so far, but there's always a voice in the back of your head questioning if you did so.. and what if.. I can honestly say, that if we'd been across the street at Sick Kids with a child that depended on our decisions and signatures ... vs Mt Sinai, PMH, TGH, Sunnybrook, St. Mikes, etc with a child that signs her own consent forms, I'm not sure I could have signed them for her and put her through what she's been through. I might well have "believed" in something else to spare her the time buying process that they call chemotherapy.

Been going on for years (unfortunately) with the JW's believing that something, that could be easily fixed with a simple 3 hour blood transfusion, will be taken care of by a higher power and instead the child dies. Not sure what the real answer is, it becomes a slippery slope pretty quickly. Trust me I've seen more than I could ever want to see in the past 5 years... people believing in medicine, homeopathy, God, the devil and everything in between and way too many lost from ALL paths!

Probably from Latchford!

Roy covered it above... catches weeds and lets the bait continue to "move" in it's proper wobble. On Georgian bay with shoals and Zebra muscles the long leader helps with lost baits. 100lb power pro / stealth or what ever you are using will cut clean as a knife when it hits these shells instantly... the fluorocarbon or heavy mono leaders take a bit more abuse.

There are Tarpon in the lagoon, but not sure if they'll let you fish down at the docks.

Someone told me on the phone tonight that even he's going to rent a hut tomorrow ..with no snow to run a sled on the lake!

They could put it next door to Basspro and still be dead.. when you charge $59.99 for a $31 auger cover.

Wasn't much different at Christmas either Gord! Won't last long...

Karma... it is a three way street correct?

I don't think it's a "get paid" issue ($76 last time I checked). I think it's more a scheduling issue for everyone to be able to make calls far enough in advance of making the trip. She was scheduled for 2:45 today and I had a perfect view of the Doctor across the hall viewing her MRI on the screen and talking with his associate's while giving two thumbs up. Then he walked across the hall and told Jen everything looked good and he'd see her again in 2 to 3 months. -

Jennifer had her brain / skull / neck MRI last Friday at Sunnybrook and we saw the Radiation Oncologist this afternoon. Left home at Noon.. back here at 5pm. 2.25 hours to get to Sunnybrook in the big city... a little wait and then saw the Doctor for 3 minutes.. no maybe it was 2 ..... then 2 hours home! "Everything looks good, see you in 2 or 3 months"! I certainly don't mind driving 5 hours to hear that, but Jen's body doesn't like sitting for that long... can't they just call, especially after her having to make the drive last Friday as well. She has her Lung Surgeon check up in early February at TGH and she's coming along slow but sure from that experience and getting around pretty well. Our good friend Dr Robert Helt came over to the house last week to check up on Jen. Rob took the stitches out of her side while he was here. Rob's been a godsend the last 4+ years! After her Lung check up at TGH in February, I presume she'll go back to regular monitoring at Mt Sinai again for her body and Sunnybrook for her head. -
I was there in '91 and almost lost my lunch at the "sightings" on the beach and the stench from the resort...... well other than the little honey that sat down beside me at the beach bar and ordered a beer, and I asked her where she kept her money! Yes I was there again a few years ago.. and it's become VERY populated. I'll try to find my report...

Tanks are free.. drop by any Provincial Park and fill a firewood bag with them. The park warden will thank you for hauling them away... as they absolutely HATE them. I grabbed a new batch in September for the guys.
-
Probably already a tapped hole in the tank bottom anyhow Dave. Just have the nipple and valve all thread doped up ready to install... and your gloves on before you remove the plug !
-
LOL.. maybe drill and tap a fitting in the bottom...
-
Don't forget you want liquid Dave.. not vapour to fill ! Why you turn the 20 lb'r upside down when filling the 1's. Yah got that right Bri!
-
I understand how it works... you shut off the valve on either before you disconnect the hose making it a non-event. That is unless a stuck check valve on the fork truck lets the hose blow back the bit of pressure left in it, hense the gloves at work in case that 0.000002% chance happens. As noted I do have fork trucks, 4 of them to be exact in the plant that are all electric now... except I did keep one propane truck and it's in my hangar at home to unload trucks. Refilling the one pounders.. as stated before. The adapter is 2" long. The 20 lb tank valve gets opened to fill and then closed again to stop the fill. Then unscrew the 1 lb tank holding the bottom of the tank. There may be a little squirt... 10" away from your hand at the top of the tank. None issue. While you're still holding the bottom of the tank...check for leaks, if in the rare event the tank is leaking or spitting propane for some reason, toss it to one side. You are filling outside after all, well or in my porch. We seem to beat this horse every winter... and like all the others you either are comfortable doing this, or you are not. It's your wallet (and landfill).

Well I guess I've used mine... so I'm not an idiot !! But again, many may have a different opinion on that.... It's like buying a new car/ truck, or letting someone else take the depreciation hit and you buying it used. Always defendable arguments for both sides.
