  1. Thanks for the update on the new store Wendel.. a common statement about Jos. 'tis where my Canon Electrics came from..
  2. Well if you do.. be sure to drop in.. make time for fishing. I'm right across from the PPark.. so handy!
  3. Well ya got 32 days to do so! .. or in the late fall.
  4. Well if you're up this way, with it, before I head North... we can reset the rivets if you want...and look for any cracks.
  5. Get the flyin operator to fax you a map of the lake. Surely they have one...
  6. I think Glen meant to say.. HASN'T leaked a drop since new. As for welding... like I said earlier buy what YOU want and fits your target...but I'd hate to tell you how many welded aluminum fuel tanks that I've repaired by prosealing all the welds.. as fuel seeps thru the porisity (probably not a word..) of the welds. Not as much an issue with water thanks to surface tension of the fluid. Personally I'd only buy a welded hull if the material thickness was at least 20% thicker than a similar size/load capacity riveted hull.
  7. Great stuff Terry... good to see you out in the foldin piece of plastic !
  8. Right up there with the boat salesman...
  9. Nice stuff Matt... I pet my boat today, but know better than to pull the cover off just yet!
  10. I absolutely refuse to use sloshing compounds in floats or wet wing fuel tanks for that matter. Either build/fix them right the first time or find a new occupation. Sloshing compound will ALWAYS come back to bite you in the Advise your students to never.. and I mean never.. use sloshing compound as an "out" to doing the job right the first time. Do not under any circumstances follow some kit builders suggestions of sloshing your fuel tanks after using proseal/seal pac/chem pac/ sealing compounds. If you use the sealers correctly, when building, you won't have leaks. Throwing slosh on top of it is a disaster waiting to happen... when it peels off in a sheet and smothers your fuel outlet screen. Things get really quiet after that... well other than your passenger screaming that is....
  11. Yes John.. last time I sang it we were coming down the 8% grade out of Yellowstone NPark in the motorhome...and the brake pedal had gone to the floor !
  12. Yah Emil... mine are put together but sitting on the shop floor. Haven't got to boat prep yet.. still customer airplane season...
  13. It's ALWAYS been on the shelf at CTC Emil..as long as I remember... but then again we are on Lake Huron here.....
  14. No I just figure CTC only stocks white or black.. lol. Usually in the boating section.. and our store at least has the entire boating stock back out again. I"ve never used 5200... as I build floats with Sikaflex 1A. Not an easy item to find.. so don't try.
  15. Make sure you put the additional plastic link and snap onto the cable clip.. this is supposed to break the + ion output ..unit detects this and stops..so they say.
  16. Highly doubtful you're gonna find Tan colour Emil... CTC $16 a tube I believe.
  17. Nothing that can't be fixed in an hour or two Dan ! Quite possible.. but if done right they shouldn't. My airplane floats have 13,500 +/-100 rivets in them and don't leak a drop. I hit the water faster than anybody heres fishin boat goes. That said.. what ever boat fits your budget/layout wants/style/colour/etc.. I wouldn't let welded vs riveted slow you down, but remember like anything in life you get what you pay for. Wendel.. you're gonna enjoy that boat!
  18. I actually believe it's a $250 fine. I know it's more than the fine for not having sufficient life jackets...figure that one out! And Woodsman.. thanks for the thoughts... looking into all avenues of my insurance coverage that is in place. Fines* for common boating offences: Operating a vessel in a careless manner - $250 Speeding - $100 Underage operation of a personal watercraft - $100 Operating a power-driven pleasure craft without the required Pleasure Craft Operator Card - $250 Insufficient number of approved, appropriately sized flotation devices - $200 for each absent device * Not including administrative charges.
  19. Who cares... team flight to Arizona tomorrow to meet the golf pro for lessons...
  20. .. bananas in Scrampton PA !
  21. Gotta blame something on the no fish days.... I think Dawg made Maureen walk back to the dock at Lakair 2 years ago...

  24. Ah.. Tinbanger just cruises around the country hitting Starbucks outlets anyhow!
  25. Man have we all got you fooled bud... we're just all dang terrified that you'll beat us up if we don't act nice to you! And Jonnybass... ask anyone here..
