  1. Oh.... to be young and naive again! And I mean that in a nice way Jamie. Take someone with you to look at it. Compression test can be done on site by cranking the sucker over. Leak down test can be done with a portable air pig.
  2. Absolutely NOT !
  3. If you mean INSIDE the engine by using a borescope YES.. If you mean inside the engine as in under the cowl/cover.. NO>
  4. ..and why I agreed with Bill. The gear box took the failure... vs the shear bolt as the inner (drive) shaft was rusted solid to the outer (auger) shaft.
  5. And a violation of the fishing act no less !
  6. You mean that shear bolt I circled Bernie ! lol
  7. Was a BIG surprise for her... they told her she was having a girl ! lol
  8. Well G... Bill is probably correct because you let it get so rusty between drive shaft and auger shaft that the shear bolt couldn't do it's job...
  9. I sent my daughters renewal in last week and already got it back... the form that is un-processed. They won't proceses it because it's my credit card #.. not hers... even though I put my name on the paper to go with my credit card #. Now they want a certified cheque or money order. Absolute crap... I did my wife and other daughters the exact same way last year.
  10. Well luckily my sister-in-laws vehicle started at 3am today, on Manitoulin Island, to make it to Subury! She popped this morning with a new baby boy.
  11. Sounds like the shear bolt to me bud ! ... you dont' have them.... you sure... Mines a good 18 years old and it does.
  12. It's what I've got (picked it up on sale at CTC in November). Yesterday I CAREFULLY turned the burner head 90 degrees... so you can swing it down and use as a cook top for making lunch in the hut!
  13. It may not even be water... the fuel gels when temps get too cold and it smoothers the filter stopping flow. Conditioner while help prevent this. No fun having the furnace flame out. .... been fighting mine all night and finally found that the "tech" that installed the burner controller used too long of screws and the tips were into the circuit board trace lines grounding it out intermitantly.
  14. Sounds like it's choking on all the crap that seafoam stirred up ! Those ABS pipes.. are they on the bike... or is that the intake/exhaust for a high efficiency gas furnace?? Moisture soaked fuel and ignition module from it's exhaust by chance?
  15. Might have been good if he'd "followed the insulation" around Orangeville too bud ! lol
  16. Ask your distributor for a couple of bottles of conditioner when they come to fill...or hit CTC for a couple bottles. Even with my tanks in the shop, @ 50*F, .. the General oil filter has to be changed twice a year as the oil is so dirty these days it clogs so bad nothing comes out at the furnace that's 10 feet lower in the basement.
  17. Tucking the boat away on Monday I found that I still had the lake charts in my lund glove box .... so I'll have a look at those a bit later for you. The ice road from town is being maintained to my dock and no further, unless someone else decides to take it from there. 42 FOW right off my airplane dock (remember where that hut was?). That whole bay is a 40' deep bathtub... 52' deep hole mid channel straight off Temagami Shores docks. The way the temps are and minimum snow you should be able to drive where ever you want.. avoiding necked areas of current of course.
  18. Didn't we go through all this last year John??? LMAO ! Too bad opener is Sunday or we'd be up there. Cheapest accoms are probably back at the Rock Pine in Marten River. I think they rent their units in the winter... can only call and check. Linda's Wigwams on Bear Island... I think she's $125 a night. Linda and George Mathias $125 a night is the common theme up there.... maybe I should open all season ! lol
  19. Very true George... only issue is straw mites. Went thru that a few times unfortunately with them cycling off the poor dog until the vet woke up and asked if we had hay in the dog house.
  20. I was gonna head to Temagami tomorrow morning... but we've called that off already based on the forecast... We can sit huddled around the fire here, with a broken furnace, instead..
  21. Great idea skeeter99..... but I only have the one on my brand new helmet. I've got to go over to the sled store tomorrow to get the wife a new visor.. maybe I'll see if they have a helmet bag kicking around as well.
  22. You talkin about them lap dogs Brian..... I couldn't get my 108 lb lab to come in when it was -40. Couldn't drag him in... he was content curled up in a snow drift, drinking out of his water dish with the aquarium heater going full blast in it ! lol
  23. Just a first hand thumbs up review on their on-line ordering. I have no association with the store. Ordered an auger extension for my Jiffy power auger, a set of curved blades for my 8" Fin-Bore III and the lazer deluxe sharpener on Jan 5th. Order was shipped on the 8th and received today. Fair pricing, fair postage costs and best of all no PST ! www.wholesalesports.com ....and yes I try to shop local ! BUT...Nobody had an extension.. nobody had curved blades. LOTS had Swedebore blades.. no Fin Bore.
  24. Sinker... how's this ! lol Found the gym bag in a box of throw outs from our daughters room. Brand new bag (free from dupont ski day) with a broken zipper. Works perfect as is... as the double zipper has a filler panel between them. I can zip up the one good zipper and wrap the other side up with the strap. Bonus is it has zipper pockets that fit the auger extension and a few small items.
  25. There's another down Kitchener way with a 115 Merc Opti for $19K
