  1. Yes the title was a play on words. I see at least one person figured it out.
  2. I feel for you man. You've got a long hard road ahead of you. Sending as much good karma your way as possible.
  3. Late March usually means steelhead but the particular river I fished on Sunday surprised me. Large numbers of holdover browns, fully recovered and voraciously hungry gave us consistent action. The water was extremely high with just a tinge of green, perfect really. Slower water called for long slender floats, light tippets and small baits. Twitching and rocking the float every so often made the small mostly white maribou jigs pulsate and triggered a lot of strikes. Also very effective was a small bead run in tandem with a micro white roe bag. The bead seems to attract the fish then they usually home in on the bag, or the finisher as I like to call it. Looking forward to later this week when the temps get warmer!
  4. Maybe so but they're a minority compared to the rest of us. More importantly the fact that they're denying the need to lower the limit, saying the science isn't there to back up the decision..that's ludicrous.
  5. What a joke. These people supposedly represent us and our concerns?
  6. Wayne's World pops to mind. Pete needs his own version of Garth and he'd be set.
  7. Each day that goes by I'm morphing more and more into Walter Matthau.
  8. Yeah whatever. As far as I'm concerned anyone over the age of 12 who plays these things needs to get a life.
  9. Overstock Bait was selling 3000yd spools of Stren Magnathin a while back for $3.99. I bought several. If anyone does happen to be at the Vaughn location I'm looking for the Browning Worm binders in all 3 sizes.
  10. Very nice Tyler. Love the brookies!
  11. I've currently got all my reels spooled with Suffix 832. It's great braid, but at least imo, not vastly different than my old Power Pro.
  12. Just to be clear it's the RV9 you want to check out, not the IM9.
  13. Buddy I can't even hook the thing up. I watched them play a couple times when they first got it. They havn't touched it once since we moved in July. Biggest waste of money ever.
  14. I was going to say I've never played a video game in my life. But I did play that 30 years ago.
  15. Best factory built float rod currently on the market is the 13.6' Raven RV9. It's a fantastic rod for the money. It may not be quite right for bottom bouncing though, although certainly usable.
  16. These guys don't know what they're talking about. Buy a huge bag of steel shot and mix it in with some birdseed. Place it in bowls around your yard. The voles will ingest the shot and become too heavy to move fast. Dispatch them quickly with a mallet.
  17. Sad news Cliff. From someone who's been through it before, condolences. Time will heal the wound and you'll just remember the good times.
  18. On a side note based on the title I was expecting something from last year. Open water in a canoe with the birds chirping and the sun shining. I guess "spring" in the Soo means anything above minus 10.
  19. Maybe, maybe not. Bottom line is the fish has way more chance of survival in the lake than in an ice chest. Another factor, steelhead and salmon are targetted in different ways, and usually in different zones. An ethical charter captain will leave them alone once a limit is reached.
  20. Highly, highly unlikely John. I've sent lots of items to the States for warranty work over the years and never once paid a dime on delivery.
