  1. Ya I heard the RV one at least 2 yrs ago. Still insane tho
  2. I just bought a boat, and have no garage, need nice weather to start painting and decking it. I'm going insane here
  3. I've had 2 friends who got that scam offered to them, where the buyer wants your 50 or 100.00 item but they send you a check or something for a few grand tell you a silly reason why that is then ask u to just send them a money order for the change, but keep 50.00 for your trouble.
  4. heres an e-mail i got the other day, thought id share.not sure if to laugh or move to another planet.enjoy.... It's time again for the annual and much awaited 2011 Stella Awards For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee onherself and successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico, where she purchased coffee. You remember, she took the lidoff the coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever think one could get burned doing that, right? That's right; these are awards for the most outlandish lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know the kind ofcases that make you scratch your h ead.So keep your head scratcher handy Here are the Stellas for this past year -- 2011 *SEVENTH PLACE* Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle trippingover a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised by the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son. Start scratching! * SIXTH PLACE * Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles, California won $74,000 plus medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his handwith a Honda Accord.Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal hisneighbor's hubcaps. Scratch some more... * FIFTH PLACE * Terrence Dickson, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, who was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of the garage.Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open.Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled itshut.Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT days and survive on a caseof Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner'sinsurance company claiming undue mental Anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the insurance company must pay Dickson$500,000 for his anguish. We should all have this kind of anguish Keep scratching. There are more... Double hand scratching after this one.. *FOURTH PLACE* Jerry Williams, of Little Rock, Arkansas, garnered 4th Place in theStella's when he was awarded $14,500 plus medical expenses after being bitten on the butt by his next doorneighbor's beagle - even though the beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as much as heasked for because the jury believed the beagle might have been provoked at the time of the butt bite because Williamshad climbed over the fence into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun. Pick a new spot to scratch, you're getting a bald spot.. * THIRD PLACE * Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania because a jury ordered aPhiladelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on aspilled soft drink and broke her tailbone. The reason the soft drink was on the floor: Ms. Carson had thrown itat her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument. What ever happened to people being responsible for their ownactions? Only two more so ease up on the scratching... *SECOND PLACE* Kara Walton, of Claymont, Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from thebathroom window to the floor, knocking out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through theladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said the night club had to pay her $12,000....oh,yeah, plus dental expenses. Go figure. Ok. Here we go!! Drum roll ... * FIRST PLACE * This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was: Mrs. MervGrazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased new 32-foot Winnebago motor home.On her first trip home, from an OU football game, having driven on to the freeway, she set the cruise control at70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for notputting in the owners manual that she couldn't actually leave the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. TheOklahoma jury awarded her, are you sitting down? $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed theirmanuals as a result of this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home. If you think the court system is out of control and America has lost ALL common sense, be sure to pass this one on!!!
  5. megadeth - hook in mouth!
  6. I've had positive experiences too. And the two I made this past 3 days have been the best so far.but unlike most of you I'm at 50/50 dealing with people on kijiji
  7. Well as luck would have it I found a 50lb bow mount min kotta for 150.00. Now just need to wait for nicer weather
  8. nice. a lot of valuable information here thanks.
  9. its going on a 14' aluminum open bow boat. i would make a platform as well as a small casting deck.
  10. so can i turn the head/handle of the motor facing me? sorry, never owned a trolling motor before so its all very new to me.
  11. in the case of the boat on down payment. i originally told the guy id come pick it up at the end of the week, but if he sells it before that to let me know. he said sooner the better but if i come up with a down payment he'd hold it. so i though ok,and then i guess he cut off all talks on the day i was to go up. but oh well, moved on to a better boat.it was no big deal. the tire one annoyed me the most. i also looked at a boat listed as no leaks but showed up to a hole in the rear. lol
  12. im sure most of you have stories of being led on a goose chase on kijiji. i have several as both buyer and seller. 2 years ago i was on the hunt for winter tires,i had 1 lady who agreed to sell to me,so i told her id be there next day around dinner,i woke up that morning to an e-mail telling me theyre sold.ok. then i set up a time and address with another guy,and i end up driving all around hamilton mountain looking for this house that didnt exsist, his house number was 45 but houses only go up to 44. i call to find out he accidently listed them in hamilton and forgot to mention he was in thorold!so i told him id go eat dinner then head down there. i text him letting him know ill be leaving in 30 min. well 45 min later im well into grimsby and i get a txt saying, sorry sold them. really? so i sent him a one word txt and turned around. i sold my car on kijiji last year, and had tons of no shows. one guy who was coming down from north bay to look at my car and one other car had me waiting from 5pm-11pm he kept txting giving updates on his location and asking for directions. after 11 he stopped replying and i went to bed. buying a boat has been the same old, same old. we e-mailed back and forth for 2 days i told him id have cash in 5 days,he said he;d hold if i gave him a down payment, thats fine, i re-arrange my schedual, find a sitter for my kid and he dtops replying, guess he had another buyer....i moved on to another boat and low and behold his ad is back up and i get an email from him days later.karma. thats just a few stories lol was bored, thought id share
  13. i want to buy a used trolling motor, and the plan would be to make it into a bow mount instead of transom mounted. i figured all i would need is the bracket to mount up on the bow. but doing a search online i cant find these anywhere. so im beginning to wonder if there is more to it than simply bolting up a regular trolling motor to a bow.anyone know anything? *oops wrong section move please*
  14. thats me. i have 3 and im waiting for the spring sale.that place is not allowed to leave.i can think of one or 2 local places that can tho
  15. Watched the 2nd duel....yawn
  16. I bought one last year as a back up to my shimano setup and love it.I now use them both equally I'm not sure I like it better than my shimano, but I don't think I like it any less either
  17. How will kessel feel hearing those rumors? I'd think he'd feel just like every other player in the league whose name will pop up somewhere in some rumour.kessel isn't going anywhere.as for the sens I think the only reason why they are now instead of the bottom 3 in the league is the coach. And the reason why leafs are not up a few more spots is because of the coach.
  18. Lol ya raycroft I believe had a most wins in a season for the leafs and how good was he? When you play Anderson almost every game he better be up there in wins. I also believe Ottawa has the most goals against in the league, if not then in the top 3
  19. im gonna have to agree on the wilson thing. he is mind numbing to watch.they talk about needing to work harder on the boards,we get armstrong back from injury and he scratches him??? schenn sitting while komi plays?? a PK in the last 2 min of a game and komi is on the ice? puts 4th liners on the ice against 1st liners when a face-off is in our zone? mis-uses his time outs. also speaking of great deals how is anderson doing? or gomez? markov? people need to look at their own teams failures before you get on kessels case
  20. looks like im going to have to research some more on musky. i have a med/hvy rod that has handled big pike with ease? i have a rubber net.but ill need to learn more about handling them before i go further. im a catch and release guy anyway,so i dont want any accidental kills due to ignorance. ive only had too accidental kills in my life (both pike) and they were about 15 years apart. dont want to add to it lol
  21. I would like to try for musky this year, ive never caught one before, nor have i tried for them, but ive fished lakes that hold them and ive always wanted to catch one but i wouldnt know where to start. so im thinking if you could only take 2 lures with you to fish for musky what would they be? any other advice or tips would be good too.
  22. I think burke is a loud mouth, and his loyalty to wilson is just stupid and insane, but the man can swing a good deal. sens and hab fans are always pointing out kessel, over and over. but fail to point out that we got gardiner and lupul for bauchimin! then he turned brett lebda,a terrible 7th d-man on a bad team into franson and lombardi! seriously, who else could pull this off,we could have got a 7th rd pick for him and been more than happy. he traded kabrele to boston for colboune and a 1st rd pick! GMs will make some bad deals and some good deals, but i can garuntee you, you will not see many more lopsided ones like this in the near future. so you can keep telling us how bad he is and how bad we lost the kessel deal, and completely ignore the killer deals hes been apart of. When it comes to trade rumors or deadlines everyone is waiting to see what burke will do.
  23. Don't recall seeing Ottawa on his list of places to play lol
  24. I've been wanting nash for years! They want a young roster player a couple of prospects and picks. I'd offer schenn only because we need to unload some money to get Nash and no way they will take Komi,I'd also offer kadri, and either gunner or blacker and then a first pick. We would probably need a toss in with Nash to even this out a tad. I'd do everything in my power to resign grabo.as you can tell as a leaf fan my armchair GM skills are intact haha. I did however read somewhere that CLB would demand gardiner as apart of the package, if this was the case I'd walk away from this trade, defenceman like him don't come around too often. I wouldn't be happy about colbourne going either.
  25. I'm going to try to use them more this year and try to build confidence in them.
